TraceyLiz, LOVE your Pinboard! That olive + navy outfit stuck out immediately to me, as did the summery kimono blouses. You look boho chic for sure <3

Angie, thank you I sometimes fight my curly hair, but doing softer bohemian styles has allowed me to embrace it more. And gladiator and t-strap are my two favorite sandal styles. I love to pair them with skinnies!

Very cute look. I love gladiators worn with the skinny pants. And your curly hair works extremely well with this style persona.

i am eclectic in my style, but feel a very strong connection to my boho looks and get a spring in my step when I get them right...
You're doing a great job with this! I had loved looking at your Pinterest pages.

Here's my Pinterest page of my looks, this summer I've gone much more towards that boho vibe than I did last Summer and in Winter I don't do as much of that look.

Aida, everytime I look at your daily WIW photos I'm like, I would wear that!! Or I already do wear it. we are style kindred spirits perhaps?

1970s glam is absolutely tops it's the one style I don't feel like I have to try at to achieve and enjoy.

alaskagirl, that is super helpful of you!!

Looking at it now, gypsy may be the wrong word. I feel I am drawn to more soft, flowing, glamourous looks. I certainly don't like anything earthy, pirate-y. For instance, I would never attend a Renaissance Festival. The clothes are a huge turn off to me.

Here are my pinterest clothing/style boards, which might help you. Granted, in the Style board, some of it my style currently, some are styles I have cycled through, and some are style I adore but can't wear due to geographic location, etc.

http://www.pinterest.com/ketur.....varjak-ve/

http://www.pinterest.com/ketur.....014-style/

http://www.pinterest.com/ketur.....spiration/

When I really look at my boards, I see a lot of European chic, with touches and leanings towards bohemian and ladylike. Overall, I like things that are feminine and glamorous, yet comfortable and luxurious -- without being classic, stuffy, masculine, rigid, pin-up, costumey, "princess" or too preppy. Sophia Loren, Gemma Aerterburton, Brigitte Bardot, Penelope Cruz, Selma Hayek - those are women whose styles I naturally and easily gravitate towards whenever I'm on Pinterest, internet, or flipping through a magazine.

I don't know if that helps at all. 1970s glam has popped up a lot this past year, especially over this past summer summer.

This is a great look.

Let's talk about the descriptor "gypsy" in the interest of being able to give you more helpful feedback (I'm leaving aside the politics and going with the fashion part).

The first thing that comes to mind for me is Stevie Nicks, and then the Free People catalog. I think of flowing layered skirts and jangling necklaces of coin and a kind of elegant ragamuffin vibe. But am I conflating gypsy with bohemian?

Would love to see some specific items you are drawn to so I can get a better handle on what you are aiming for!

Aida, thank you!!! This outfit felt really good and "right" when I was wearing it.

I actually did push up the sleeves later. But was chilly when I took the photos, so I didn't push them up. Never been a cardigan lover, especially longer BF styles. But this cardigan and outfit have changed my mind. I'm really glad I experimented!

mwah xo

Oh I love this on you! Fits your style descriptor really nicely, and also looks quite current. The layered jewelry is a great touch, it "finishes" the outfit nicely. With the sandals pairing I want to push the cardi sleeves up though, to get just a little more skin to balance it out (but more seasonally confused looks are trendy right now so it looks fine like this, too). I've passed on pretty much all of my cardigans, except for the longer BF style ones like this. Totally different vibe, and can easily be added to boho looks for a nice soft touch of warmth.

Texstyle,

Thank you for the great feedback! Deep green is one of my favorite cold weather shades. It's a beautiful color, and it feels very peaceful and nice.

100+ Wowzer! We rarely get about mid 80s at this elevation, though it easily reaches up to 115 in the direct sun. (Alpine sun is just a scorcher!) I'm a bit jealous though; we only had about 8 weeks of summer this year. I wish I was out swimming!!

E YAY!! Glad to be on track!

LOL! I'm so glad it's a splendid green. It's an extremely cool, dark green, definitely cooler than forest green. So I'm thinking pine. (The lighting in the bathroom at work is terrible. Actually, I stepped into the customer bathroom. The employee bathroom is painted dayglo orange, and I can't take photos in there. I look like an oompa-loompa, no matter what I'm wearing. HA!

Oh pockets, how I adore them. if every dress I owned had side-seam pockets, I would be in heaven. I love dress and sweater pockets so much. I'm forever stuffing my hands in them, just because it's so relaxing.

If you ever can find any kind of BB merino when thrifting, snatch it up quick as you can. It's really nice because of how lightweight but warm it is. My sister paid only a dollar or two for it.

I really love slouchier items, more and more. I am hoping you find a slouchy cardi! I think they're wonderful. Do you knit??

This looks and sounds perfect for you Keturah. It's a little hard to see the color details but I love, love, love deep green and think it would suit you wonderfully. I think you created an outfit where the cardigan does not look too classic at all. I like the layered jewelry adding interest to the all black and deep green and the sandals do lighten it up.

So many great black outfits shown lately!

Lucky you with damp, chilly weather. It is forecasted to be 100+ every day for a week here. Guess I'll be doing some swimming.

Oh I love it, especially with the necklace & metallic shoes! Definitely on track. I wish I could see the pine green of the sweater better, but I've used my imagination, and in that it looks splendid. lol What a great thrift find: I bet the BB merino is wonderful! I agree that the slouchier cardi works really well with the trousers here. And of course, the addition of pockets makes everything 200% more fun. hehe

All of my cardis are the prim & proper kind, but lately I've been keeping an eye out for the perfect slouchier option: this post makes me even more interested in finding one.

Another attempt at "gypsy chic." I had been doing slightly more polished, "glamorous bohemian" looks this summer. But lately, a the weather turns, I feel the gypsy in me (My Bohemian and Irish heritage is shining through, ha )

Today is a darker look overall. I'm glad I chose metallic t-strap sandals (the backs are multi-colored, which you can't see in the photos). It brightens and lightens it all up, I think.

This is a first for me. I am wearing a cardigan and I love it. I have always felt they were too classic for me. I feel old, dated, and frumpy in anything too classic. Round-neck cardis scream "prim, proper, and classic" to me. I shudder. But I think this cardi works because of
1. what I paired it with
2. longer length
3. pockets
4. beautiful pine green color

I also chose the cardi because it's merino wool, and will keep me decently warm in this damp, chilly, early fall weather we're experiencing here in the mountains.

Also, based upon E's kind and helpful suggestion, I layered on most of the jewelry I own. (forgot to add earrings - I'll add those tonight.) I almost added a copper collar I own, but decided to keep the necklaces long and swingy. (I think the copper would have been fun though and might add that later!)

harem pants, h&m
tank top, old navy
cardigan, brooks brothers (thrifted)

sandals, macy's and terribly old. (3 years old maybe?)

jewelry, handmade+boutiques+thrifted

What do you all think? Am I on track?
