All looks good to me. You look perfectly fine in both outfits, sleek and trim. I think I'd team the second look with a statement boot to balance things out a bit. Nice pieces!

I don't see pear, I just see a lovely woman (and most women have *do* have hips). I think both outfits look terrific.

Thanks, cheryle. I will e able to wear it soon!
WordLily, I know what you mean. I have used straighter, more oversized tops to downplay.

I think it's the pencil skirt in #1 that's emphasizing your hips, not the top. But still, it's good!

And from what I can see, I LOVE that sweater in #2! I don't think the pants are too skinny, at all. It looks quite nice, to me.

Yay, color!

I think the sweater and slim pants are perfect. The outfit is very figure flattering and cool too. I really like the deep rich color too. Nice find.

About when Angie posted her "grab colors", I found this berry-colored cardigan and burgundy cowl sweater.

I usually have a few of these ubiquitous cardigans (TJMaxx, Steinmart) to wear mostly buttoned up, as tops. I think the appeal is that they come in an unending array of colors and patterns but to stay focused and not have too many, I usually aim for "strategic" colors, such as buying favorite happy colors when I find them, or basic black, or something that helps an orphan bottom, or a print with strategic color or pattern that ties something together and as FFBO item.

Shown in Pic 1 which I'm afraid looks quite pearish, when IRL I think it behaves more the boxy side as intended, I hope (sized up) but I guess I yam what I yam! With AT B&W tweedy pencil skirt, silver/black flats, and silver-black necklace to fill in neckline.

Pic 2-4 is some kind of pants (or would they be in legging territory?) by Peace of Cloth, from consignment store. I was not supposed to try to do anything this skinny, or do tunic-type outfits, but I liked the invisibible zip front for a flat front if I'm wearing a long top over, and just liked the subtle pattern (shown closeup iin 4). But none of my tops were long enough for "hip coverage" which I require in these bottoms. Then aha, at same time as found #1, I found this Tahari burgundy lightweight merino cowl neck sweater that I think gives adequate coverage and balance, and yet is not a very heavy sweater, which would be "temperature confused" for me as the pants would not be warm enough. Shown with black patent oxfords.
Have added a pic 5 of a front-zip pant from the POC website, but I don't really know the pants style type that I have.

Do you think the sweater over skinny works? I don't have plans for a big expansion in this silhouette, but am happy to have created one inexpensively for fun, if it works.
Thanks for comments and suggestions!
