Looks great - yes, definitely enjoy it, if there was ever a time to find a little extra joy, it's now Fwiw, I think the floral print looks current but not trendy, if that makes sense ... so while it's adjacent to the 'off the moment' floral prints (according to what I've seen, which is admittedly very limited), it's not so spot on as to date next season ... if that makes any sense!

KILLER puffer! Looks soooo good on you. If you like, you can pull the bottom zipper up a bit to create a slightly loser fit on the hips.

A floral is a floral. A puffer is a puffer. Nothing too trendy that will date. Please carry on

Well, y’all gave me a push I needed— thanks!
I returned the vest today, actually, and that was a relief. In addition to styling and proportion issues , it really doesn’t fit into my needs that well - not warm enough if my arms are cold, can’t layer over, not right for milder weather when I could choose from my jacket collection or a shorter vest, not working like other items that really keep me comfy in the house, either, and takes up a lot of room for what would basically be an accessory. I was seeing that, and especially after I played around with it at home, but was not heeding my own reactions.

Unfurmped I’ll add that I also added an other puffer this year & I wasn’t intending to. (Also from athleta). It’s a light pink! So outside my usual. But I’m thinking that it’s nice to have an alternative to my every day puffer. And that these days my coat and my boots are the only thing most people see. & it’s looking like that will be the norm thru late spring or summer

The floral puffer with the curved hem is so flattering. I'm less fond of the vest--combination of length and straight hem. I'd seriously hold on to the puffer--it's gorgeous and the dark moody print is almost a neutral but more interesting.

Maybe keep the floral and return the vest. The parameters for vests are pretty narrow for me and I think a shorter length would be more flattering for you.

kkards, thanks, I was looking at it that way- more moody than bright.
Jenna, thanks.
Joy, very wise as usual. It’s an item that feels like “ I can’t wait to wear it” but since it just arrived, have been taking time to try it on with various pants and tops. I am prone to FOMO —“oh, there may never be such a jacket!” . But also, these features- longer curved hem is a style preference for me in tops, 2- way zip allows garments to be less boxy, and the print is very wearable for my coloring and the things I’d wear it with. So, it has a use that is different from just getting another puffer in another color. I think it is more realistic than my blazer
fixation!
What was giving me pause was just, I hadn’t planned on adding another warm item in late winter; was not in need of a “ refresher “, I just like this particular item.

I think you should keep the floral. It is beautiful and would work differently than the solid berry. Whether or not you would tire of it is hard to say. If you love wearing it and the quality is high, it will have a long stay in your closet. If you have a fantasy about it, it is probably best returned. Think really hard if you would wear it to justify the room it takes and expense. It looks wonderful on you.. it also depends on what kind of winter season you have and how long. Those who live with long cold winters should have more warm coats.

Love the floral jacket—for me the dark floral keeps it from being “too much” and keeps it ground and current (instead of trendy).
And I’m liking the Altitude pant...

Channelling my pandemic winter woodswomen cabin look in #pic 1.
Eddie Bauer plaid shirt over extra-warm Heattech, Uniqlo "denim" jersey lined sweatpant/jogger, JJ long vest and Minnetonka slip-on lined indoor-outdoor "slippers". (I only wear them at home but have run out to the birdfeeder in them).

I really recommend the Uniqlo pants , but they are selling/sold out. I actually run too cold to wear them even indoors on our colder days/evenings at home--have to wear underlayer or switch to EB sherpa-lined sweatpants! So that makes them useful for me because I can wear them on many days other folks might get by with regula sweatpants/joggers. I love the denim-esque color, as a change from black and gray, and how it goes with a lot of my shirts that have some blue. 3rd thing that made them a keeper for me is that somehow they are more skimming over hip, not bulgy, and straight hem rather than jogger cuff.
The long vest I am still not sure if it will get enough wear to justify, because vests are kind of seasonally -confused for me even though I have several regular length fleece, puffy, and a leopard fuzzy. But the longer length DOES add more warmth and also I plan to try more on outdoor walks, and also styling it with more tailored and even feminine looks for wearing out and about. The 2-way zip makes it more useful also.
Pic 2-3 is What I Might Keep --the Athleta dark floral puffer that Janet also reviewed.
I had crossed it off my radar and then saw it IRL in store, but too small size. I just loved the colors and print and the shirttail hem! Also did not realize it had 2-way zip. The store had an XS in another color that seemed to fit but didn't have a size S in any of the Downtown puffers to try a size up, which I like to do. I had to order from out of state store so ordered XS and here it is. I love it and I think this size is good for what would be more of a "fashion" puffer jacket for me. It zips fine, but I like wearing it open a lot , which is how I wear jackets "going in and out" of places, as opposed to walking in serious cold weather (and even then I typically unzip as I warm up) so with this fit I would also wear it with "real" clothes, like sporty luxe. If the sleeves were longer, they would bother. Of note is I have a solid berry-colored Archteryx nano-down puffer jacket, more roomy, so works even over bulky underlayers and is what I use for hiking, travel, or just for how the color works.
Shown with the Altitude pant which works with the longer back hem, as would fleece leggings, whereas I don't like wearing those "out" with regular jacket lengths. ?

Comments welcome. Do you think the floral will be too "much", too trendy and get dated/tiresome?
