I went to church in look #2 this morning and got lots of compliments. One lady even told me, "You look fabulous!" which made me do a little happy dance inside It's amazing how actually looking at photos instead of just in the mirror can change your opinion on things. Once I saw the vest with the sneakers vs boots, I was sold on the sneaker look. </p> <p>Beth Ann, I do have several denim jackets and I'll be trying out your suggestions. I only own two belts because I don't like to tuck and am not good at using them with outfits. I do intend to change that as I get more educated here on YLF. </p> <p>Thanks to all. Sometimes it is good to try new things. Its hard to tell if it works because you have another color by your face that really does work. I suppose that allows you to use yellow to add vibrancy without worrying about skin tone. Now, I'm a SAHM to three little boys. I recently purged most of my work wardrobe but still want to look fab as a MOTG. I haven't been shopping in almost a year (for obvious reasons) so last week, I hired a sitter, drove two hours to the "big city" and had a four hour shopathon. My goal was to get pieces I could mix and match, that would work for MOTG but also work with skirts and dresses for church and other dressier occasions. I don't have the best style anyway, but especially have trouble with casual looks. Suggestions, advice, and input are all welcome!</p> <p>#1-3: Outfits I'm considering for church in the morning. I've never worn the "mustardy" yellow. The sales lady encouraged me to get it and I bought a couple of scarves that would work well with it. However, I'm not sure about the combination here with the hot pink. What do you think? #2 is another option with a different top. Not as much color but I do like the polka dots. I also got my first pair of specs yesterday so decided to include them as well. They're bifocals so I'll be wearing them a lot. Please let me know what you think about the specs - color, shape, etc. Brutally honest please. </p> <p>#3: I wore this to run some errands yesterday. The temperature here was 84 on Thursday and then dropped to 49 on Friday. The vest and top are new. The jeans are Gap Always Skinny and the boots are American Eagle that I picked up on a whim a few years ago at TJ Maxx. They're extremely comfortable and warm but do they look too "young" for 42 year old me? My concern about the vest is the bulk it adds.</p> <p>#4: Same as three but minus the boots and add the Josef Sibel sneakers I ordered based on Angie's recommendations. LOVE them! They're super comfortable. How do they work with this?</p> <p>I'm still on a steep learning curve but will absorb any and all suggestions you can give. Thanks! </p>
