Donna, thanks!

Greyscale, I just saw your thread with similar issues! But I love the Oxfords you posted and they sound like they might fit me. I am seriously considering them. And I like the look of Docs but they're so heavy I can't weight to take them off at the end of the day.

Diane, arty and bold sound great! Boho is funny for me - I like it in the summer but not the winter. I wonder if anyone else has seasonal style descriptors?

Naz, what is it about pockets on dresses that are so fab? I rarely even use them!

Wow, I'm so impressed with all these fab outfits. Your style is soaring at the moment Dee. More love for the Gap dress from me and I also really like the semi sheer shirt and crops. How about Bold, Arty, Boho?

I so hear you on the high-volume shoes that aren't boho! I'm very pleased with a new addition to my shoe wardrobe: I got a pair of J Crew boy's dress oxfords and they go with everything. They're wide enough for my feet, and I keep them laced very loosely so they're comfortable on my high instep. They're obviously not feminine, but that's good for my style.

If my feet were bigger, I could get men's shoes, of course, but I'm a men's 5 and that's more often found in the boys' section.

I've also found Dr Martens to be good for my feet, again because they're a unisex shape. My favorite sandals are Dr Martens. Clunky, but edgy in a way that works for me.

These might be a bit too RATE / whatever for your look, I realize, especially the sandals. The oxfords are more minimalist.

Maneera and Shevia, thank you! That dress is the reason I hope Gap isn't closing anytime soon.

CocoLion, I love your interpretation of my style! I would love to be that person. Due to some medical issues, footwear is my eternal challenge. Why is it so hard to find wide, high-volume shoes in non-boho styles??? They are my HEWI and I am definitely keeping an eye out.

I like 1 and 3 best. I can really see a new style emerging. I see those as being urban, minimal and androgynous.

I would suggest looking for some footwear that matches the vibe of these two outfits. The footwear you're wearing with these outfits are more Boho and Arty. Maybe Boho/Arty is another side of your style you like to bring out from time to time, and I totally get that. I do that myself.

Carter, I got the EF tank on sale at the Rack at the end of last summer, sorry! It's a little tricky to style with the see-through bottom part, but it works well for dressy-casual. And I so rarely get to dress up! This was a dressy week for me and it was fun.

Suz, I completely agree! I thought edginess was what I wanted, but I don't quite want structure or RATE, so it's hard to figure out what from that is what I was looking for.

KL, thanks! I always chop my hair off in the summer for maximum cool (temperature-wise)! And glad I can still wear the LBD.

Joyce, thank you!

Carla, there's definitely a bit of modern classic to my style. But I also like some high-volume pieces and drape - does that also fall under modern classic? I'm trying to narrow it down. I guess I want to make sure I balance the modern with the classic! Thank you for the feminine comment too!

Smittie, thanks! I love a little drama!

You are killing it, Dee! How about modern classic (vs traditional classic?) these outfits have a certain feminine softness without resorting to the usual ruffles and lace. You look approachable and oh! so stylish!

I've gone out for meals and theatre events with friends a few times in the last week, which gives me an excuse to be (slightly) dressier than my average day. The outfits below are a pretty good example of the range of my style at this point.

I've realized over the past couple of months that although I like clothes with interesting lines and drape, I am still not a big fan of structure and edgy might not be the word I'm looking for in my style. I'm thinking more about dramatic or artistic as a descriptor lately. I like the idea of urban but I'm not quite there yet. Dramatic casual? What do you think? Suggestions welcome!

Outfit 1: Worn out to lunch with a friend. You all have seen this dress before, but I'm on SYC this month and there are only so many ways to remix a dress, so here it is again! Added the gold sandals to dress it up a bit.
Gap dress, Seychelles sandals from DSW.

Outfit 2: Worn to an evening event with a friend. This is my LBD. I've had it for four or five years and worn it to work events, weddings and more. It's a little snug on the bottom this year (I don't wear shapewear) but I hope it still works.
Loft dress, JCrew belt, Coach shoes from DSW.

Outfit 3: Worn to the theatre and out to dinner with DH. I got these white crops last year and loved them, but they've been too snug this season too far. Paired them with this long EF high-low tank for extra coverage. I would have worn sandals but it was going to rain and I hate open shoes in the rain.
Loft crops, EF tank, Softspots shoes, Zara necklace.

And one more casual outfit:
Outfit 4: Worn over the weekend. This shirt is another frequently worn item this summer. I love how light and breezy it feels.
Loft shirt, BR shorts, Seychelles sandals

Comments and feedback welcome!
