I wore them again last night out for casual dinner. They are loosening and becoming more comfortable with wear — I’m seeing potential for a real workhorse here. This time I wore them with my “skater jeans.” I don’t usually think of myself as being trend-forward when it comes to denim, but I’ve had those jeans for a couple of years. I get compliments on them every time I wear them. They’re full length but the open sides at the hem help show the detail on the shoes more than most full-length pants do. </p> <p>I wore them with very lightweight patterned knee-highs. I may spring for some new cute socks to wear with them. It was the perfect spring topper for a day that went from cool and damp to sunny and breezy. </p> <p>My new doctors office is in a complex with a couple of nice local boutiques. There was some nice looking denim in one — I tried on a couple of pairs of straight legs while it was on my mind, but they were too short for the look I have in mind. And some brands like Mother are made with too much stretch for my liking. Happy to see some mid rises back in the world though! </p> <p>Jenni, those are really cute! I don’t think I remember seeing you post those before but they’re great. Sizing down does not work — it makes them too narrow overall or too short. </p> <p>I saw these Freda Salvador loafers the last time I was in NYC and have had them on my mind ever since. I have a lovely pair of oxfords from this designer from about 10 years ago that I still enjoy, so I thought they might be a good fit.</p> <p>My husband and I were back in Manhattan a few days ago, so I stopped back in and finally tried the loafers on, and they fit perfectly! They’re a little stiff at first but already becoming more comfortable today on my first wear. </p> <p>Like so many things I’m enjoying lately, they are classic but with a twist. I love that subtle “halo” detail that to my eye takes them from traditional to a bit edgy.</p> <p>Worn with striped lightweight sweater, COH Emerson jeans, and with an added belt, jacket and scarf. Worn today for a meeting with a new doctor I am considering. </p>
