I works both with pants and skirt, but with the skirt... it's a dream! I admit I had to look up the word "welt" for a sweater... still not sure what it means... is it like the ribbed band at the bottom of a sweater?&nbsp;<br />You know this shade also works really well with burgundy.<br />I like your last outfit very much. In real clothing items, not just accessories. A hard thing to find, it seems. I could relate to&nbsp; viva's post on trying to add color.</p> <p>I found this mauve sweater at TJMaxx. TJM is +/- for me as it's too easy for me to take home something I don't need, but also I have found some good&nbsp; items there. I often "scan for color" just as a way to check in from time to time for their frequent stock turnover, though most items are no-go.<br />I first noticed the color, then that it was relatively short and boxy (not "cropped" but shorter than I would wear with a lot of my more fitted pants. Shorter is good to have some tops for wider pants or longer skirts. It was only in the dressing room that I noticed the fun zig-zag hem!<br />Pic 1 is with high-waisted wide-leg pants worn to work<br />Pic 2 is with midiskirt and with block-heel pumps for church, but I wear wear flats or booties with the skirt for work. Both skirt and pants are a type of navy pinstripe wool.<br />This sweater works for me because:<br />-the color is fab. Even deeper mauve would be good, but this is great. It goes with all neutrals, black, navy, gray, brown and white.<br />--it is NOT wool . This is a plus to have some items that just don't require moth-proofing so can leave it out year-round and can wear it when getting tired of darker winter colors.<br />-it has about 3-season wear as can layer under it in deep winter but by itself is okay for cool spring and fall and in air-conditioning<br />-does NOT have a welt. Welted knitwear is hard for me to wear as it rides up to my natural waist in a flash. This type of boxier hem moves but goes back into place<br />--the hem is fun and offsets the length a bit, I think<br />I realize that a much shorter top can give a better&nbsp; silhouette with these bottoms, but shorter on me often either sticks out in front or shows my midriff so I need pretty high-waisted pant or skirt to wear even this. (untucked, that is)&nbsp;<br />Pic 3 is another WIW for weekend lunch trying to style my EF boiled wool vest casually. Worn with BR ruffle neck black shirt, Talbots jeans, PG booties and added my Patricia Nash floral tote. I would also wear this with full-length bootcut dark jeans. This outfit has a lot of "breaks" in the vertical lines, but I thought the jeans hem picks up the gray vest and the tonal colors may help.</p> <p>Please feel free to suggest&nbsp; ideas for better stylings.</p>
