Another one just reinforcing that there is nothing wrong with look 1. As someone who prefer long-waisted looks (and is severely belt-challenged), I would not semi-tuck. Have you tried layering a cami that is longer that both the top and the bomber under everything? Most of the times when I don't like a jeans (ATM I mainly wear skinnies) + topper ensemble... this cami elongating waist trick does it for me.

Plus I am sending some winter love to cheer you all up. Winter is great girls! Let's enjoy it! We get to wear our boots and all lovely coats.

Yes, AnnieMouse, you are so so right. And Suz too.
It's really FSAD -- fashion-oriented seasonal affective disorder. There's not enough sunlight outside and not enough brightness in my wardrobe. I am bored by it all! As a result, I am overshopping, which is not necessarily good ... although I do think I have found some great pieces (with Angie's help); we'll see how they pan out when they arrive.
In the meantime, I am planning to spend some time this afternoon on a good wardrobe review, looking for items to cast off through consignment and also spring and summer things that I can winterize, in order to bring in more color and energy.
And Ceit, thanks for the semi-tuck idea. It reminds me that I need a colorful belt, which would make the semi-tuck all the more successful.
Thank you all!

I hate that boredom that sets in in January - it feels like we'll never get there!

I really like the brightness in (1), but I agree with Ceit - I think a semi-tuck would help spark it up. I've been working to winterise my spring and summer things, because the colours in them make me feel more alive. Could that work?

i agree with the others, nothing wrong with number 1, i think you are just ready for something else. #2 is great, and i don't see anything wrong with the boots.
can't wait to see the red pants!

Well I think both look fab but a little tweaking of #1 as per Ceit's suggestion would make a difference. Even some red beads could add a pick me up:)

#2 is gorgeous. I like the silhouette on you. , it's simple, stylish and a great fall back outfit.

Wow, I think both are wonderful, but the second one especially.

I think it's the long Winter itself that has strange feeling on everyone... but I have a secret weapon to perk me up - lipgloss/tinted gloss/lightweight lipstick. A little bit of colour and shine ON the face makes me instantly feel great when everything around me is cold, grey and battered or dried out by the wind.

What Ceit said!

I think it is the winter doldrums. We are all feeling that. I hate my clothes at the moment, too.

1 is great if you semi-tucked it -- I think that would spice it up a little and fix the proportions of the top and bomber.

2 is great too!

It's January and the winter weather is dragging me down. I'm bored by everything in my closet! I ordered the red BCBG pants Angie just posted about because I need something to wake me up!!!!
So hard to dress today... First outfit just did not work for me. What's wrong?
Second outfit is a bit of a fallback: skinny Paige cargos and a favorite slouchy batwing Vince sweater. Also an old pair of Aquitalia boots that I usually avoid because I feel they've lost their foot shape and no longer look crisp.
Still feeling a bit blah but the visual integrity of outfit 2 helps a little. Might need to follow Anna's lead and haul out bright pink tomorow.
