I think the patterned shoes in #1 was a perfect addition. I can see it being too heavy with black shoes. Agree re comments about the belt. But overall a really polish and stylish look. I swap the top out, but I have a button down and a yellow top that I really like with it, so somehow finding another alternative was a real struggle. I nixed a cobalt one because the color didn't seem right, but now that feels like just complete ridiculous pickiness. The jeans, shoes, jacket are really my FFBO for Fridays. Fridays are jeans days in my office, but I like to wear a jacket too just in case I have to meet with a client. </p> <p>@rae and modgirl, I really wanted to belt to work, but it does seem like a little much. I put it on before the patterned shoes. Thanks for the suggestion of dropping it. </p> <p>Rae, you have such a good eye! The belt doesn't fit at my natural waist without the black patent and buckle being off center. That drives me crazy in something like this belt where the symmetry is part of the design (note to self: don't buy belts like this again), so rather than notching it up again, I left it loose. I tried this and tried that and finally ran out the door just after switching my shoes from black to patterned. : / Just before heading home, I took a few pics just to remember to work on this. I took the sweater off so that I could get an idea of how the top looks on its own. I was a little surprised by how much nicer this seemed to look in person (pics 1 through 3) than in my memory. Apparently the shoes helped boost this up. I'm open to suggestions and critiques, though! Please! </p> <p>Nord. cardi (old), ON top (cheap fix when I was looking for something in emerald and blue), JCrew classic wool trousers, Michael Kors patent and woven straw belt (old), J Shoes pumps. </p> <p>This morning my favorite shirt for this outfit (4 through 6) was in the wash, so I though "Easy! I'll just swap in something else." Not so fast. Six tops later, I had to admit that I was just being weirdly picky and so I took the last thing I tried on (green sweater). I love this pairing of my Everests, jeans and striped jacket. I threw on the necklace to put something light in the top half of this outfit. I'm in love with these jeans because they make my very flat rear look like a bubble bum! Hooray. </p> <p>Halogen jacket (2008?), BCBG sweater (last legs), BR Heritage jeans (New! Clearance. Hooray!), shoes are Fluevog Everests (my precious!) </p>
