I bet a zipper could give a similar effect. Makes it more bespoke!<br /> Helen - I did buy the initial supply of dye from spotlight but they were out of stock of a lot of colours. I have hit the net to buy more. I am now after a colour intriguingly called "burlesque red". This is going to be a holiday project!<br /> Joy - forest green boots = happy days. Probably the&nbsp;stitching&nbsp;is polyester. So you can see white stitching on my shoulders. I chose it because I had no idea what I was doing and it seemed the easiest to use. Angie's post on green reminded me that I have been meaning to report back on a DIY project - which involved dyeing an old top green.<br /> The top was a creamy yellowish colour and a few years old (pic 2). I had gone off it because I had decided the colour washed me out. As it is cotton, it was a perfect candidate for dye.<br /> Anyhow, it was pretty easy (I did it by hand) and I am very pleased with the result. It came out a slightly yellowish green (I suppose because the base was cream). I generally prefer blue greens but I still like it a lot. Definitely a success as I have worn it more in the past month than I have worn it in the past 2 years. I wore this outfit to work (pic 1).<br /> So happy I have already ordered 2 more packets of green dye from eBay. I am going to have lots of green stuff in my wardrobe by the end of summer!<br /> A big thank you to Sally (Kiwigal) and Vix for the inspiration. I am definitely thinking this is a way to revitalise some older pieces in my wardrobe and maybe even some newer ones! </p>
