First you look stunning Katerina. But it feels like a "quiet" outfit to counteract the noise of a migraine. Almost the outfit equivalent of a soothing darkened room. I really like the jacket w both scarves but if I'd had a pounder I would have picked the same one.

Tulle, thank you very much for your lovely comments and for your concern! I am fortunate, because I have migraine medicine which usually helps me within a couple of hours. Have not heard of this method - will try it.

As a former migraine sufferer, I think avoiding stimulating colors makes perfect sense (all I could stand was a dark room) and the very gentle shades of this outfit seem just right. On the other hand, the addition of the dynamically patterned scarf, once your head stopped throbbing, turned a necessarily quiet combo into something more...Katerina!

Have you ever tried, when you have migraine, the trick of keeping your head very cold (with cold cloths, ice packs, etc.) and the rest of you, especially hands & feet, very warm? That, plus the dark room, aspirin and caffeine, worked best for me, especially if done right away, before nausea set in. You have my sympathy--I hope your headaches stop eventually, too.

Thank you ALL very much for the lovely comments, very kind words, wisdom and encouragement. You are so wonderful!

Kkards, I know, I know ... blush is a colour When I think colour, I think bright, bold, cheerful...Blush is soft, more like a neutral to me.

Staysfit, how interesting! I often crave colour, red lipstick etc. when I am tired or, must work and have low energy. Migraine is different though for me - sensitive to light, sharp sounds, noise even after the pain has lifted, perhaps that is why calm colours are soothing.

Krishnidoux - you are on to something! I will try to explore tonal or monochrome outfits and try to use textures - interesting.

Such an interesting and thought provoking post.
I'm so sorry you are plagued with such pain. Hugs to you. Despite this, you found the strength to post this compelling outfit story.
I agree the outfit looks much better with the panther scarf, because the black in it blends well with the background.
This is fascinating, because I think we are witnessing the beginning of a style evolution moment. You appear to me as the master of color blocking. You also are a pro at scarves. So the first outfit impulse is moving away from these two skills.
I noticed you played on texture, mat vs shiny, and relief (same tone design, on the scarf and also with the jacket's fabric). Maybe this is a new direction to explore for you?

So interesting. Your outfit is lovely. When I have a migraine that isn’t so severe as to prevent me from working, I tend to wear colors, and to dress with more care. I put on make up, etc. I think it somehow prepares me for my day like wearing armor. Something about the process helps me get through the morning and off to work.

I think both versions are beautiful and totally "you". I also suffer from migraines and understand your need for something more soothing. I hadn't thought of this in the context of dressing according to mood, feelings, etc. before, but I definitely steer clear of bright colours and patterns when I have a migraine, because they exacerbate the symptoms. I do hope you are feeling better Katerina, I know how tired and drained they can leave you feeling.

Migraines are horrible. You look fantastic and I like the sense of quiet that the outfit that you chose evokes. The second scarf is beautiful with your outfit, but the first one is more soothing and that is what you need when dealing with a migraine. I hope it has lifted today.

Dear fabbers, a WIW today.
Woke up with a migraine, luckily no meetings today. To the office when I felt better, but was tired the whole day. Why am I telling you this? Well, thinking about the interesting discussion here on YLF the other day about dressing depending on mood, feelings, tasks of the day, personality etc. Today, I absolutely did not want to use any colour. Almost like when I am tired, I do not want a fresh and energetic outfit...but a "tired" outfit....
A column of black, a silk jacket in blush, a thin silk scarf in blush and a pair of bling sneakers.

Later at home, when I took the picture, I noticed how pale the outfit is and took another picture with a black and pink patterned scarf. Normally, I wear this jacket with a classic colourful silk scarf and often white or navy bottoms

What do you guys think of the outfit? And the absence of colour?
