Sara, that's a really good insight about a few added pounds. If the fit is off, you won't feel fab in anything.

I like Angie's descriptor of Arty Eclectic to you and think it might help you moving forward. I also agree with Una -- several of these would be perfect with the switch out of the shoes for some boots!

Thanks Angie for ringing in! I always appreciate you thoughts I think Arty Eclectic is a good descriptor. I will have to see who else is on that thread.

#3 I was trying Angie's chunky sweater and pencil skirt formula... I agree with Una about some boots. I only have one pair (knee high black relatively flat 1" stacked heel) and I am not thrilled with how they fit my calves so I have been looking to replace them all season to no avail. Although when it is 50 F (N. Carolina) I dont get really cold with bare legs.

I agree that the skinny jeans fit great, i just feel like the fabric (brand (non-brand!) 17/21) hasnt washed up great and now has a little layer of fuzz that makes them look as cheap as they were!

I am still exploring my dissatisfaction, although I think i have come to realize i have gained about 8 lbs. and many of my clothes are thus not fitting how they did upon purchase. I think devoting time to getting my workouts and eating back on track is top priority.

@ Joy -- I love both maximal and minimal! I am trying to figure which one wins out! Today is minimal... but tomorrow? I do love pattern mixing....

I rather like #3, #6 and #9, in addition to #1/2. Is the lack of a more rugged element what's bothering you about these, or do they feel too sleek or dressy perhaps? (comparing to #2 and #10, which felt most like you...)

Well, my faves are 6 and 9! The issue I'm spotting is the seasonal confusion of heavier layers with bare legs, but I'm not sure where you live. All these outfits call for boots or ankle booties to me except the ones I mentioned.

I also like you in skinny jeans. The fit seems just right. My favorite is 8/9 but I wonder if you might feel more yourself in outfits that are more maximal.
1/2 is fun and interesting. I love the pattern mixing in 3. I like the buttoned up shirt of 4/5 and the jacket's big white buttons, but the beads seem like they get lost...maybe leave them off or wear a large pendant?
I'm getting called away. More later

I love the skirt in no. 1. I'm smitten of with the idea of the sweater in #3 with white or blue jeans. #10 is one of my favorites too.

Thanks Mia! I am definitely going to try the black boxy sweater with white jeans! Hadn't thought of that before, with black it feels kind of blah to me but that could be that my black pants make me feel blah. And I feel like the white jeans are the first thing i reach for everytime I do laundry and they are clean.

@ Sara L. -- i feel like i have so many nice pieces, thanks for noticing! Just seems like I have a mental road block on getting the outfits and proportions right. I did feel happy wearing #6 too, just the scarf became fussy feeling and I took it off mid afternoon.

I love the skirt in #1/2 and I actually like all the skinny jean outfits. I also like #6 with the scarf and rolled jeans. The leather jacket in #9 is a great piece.

Love the pieces in 3 however in the photo the look is a little boxy and the proportions look slightly "off". Can't miss pairing the sweater with slim black pants or jeans (even white).

#4 gets my vote too and would like to see with dead simple tee to let the jacket pop. I'd do a stripe if you like them.

The jeans look great in photo..,

I've decided to start taking outfit photos again and trying to post them. One, I need to figure out what I am actually wearing to figure out what is worth the CPW and what isn't. Two, I'm trying to figure why I feel so ho-hum about what I am wearing lately. I am hoping posting will give me the incentive to "up my game" as it were. I am just passing my one year point and like so many others have taken the milestone to reflect a bit (although I haven't come to a cohesive conclusion to write an enlightening post on... hopefully that will be forthcoming!)

My fav's are probably 1-2 and 10 but I cant articulate why. I've decided I don't really like the skinny jeans in 4-5 and 8-9 and wish I would not have given away my "too big" after weight loss skinny's as they would be the perfect slouchy skinnys!

There hasn't been too much sleeve scrunching as I am trying to stay warm and fuss free, but just reviewing the photos I think that could help add a little spunk.

Your thoughts and feedback are much appreciated!
