Her acting is so luminous, I can't help but be enchanted; all of her work with UNICEF makes me suspect she was a lovely human being as well. She also&nbsp;epitomises 50s fashion for me, especially in Sabrina. So today, when I pulled on slim trousers and a sweater that hugged my waist, I felt a tiny bit like her.</p> <p>The forecasted high today was 73 F/23 C, and I didn't want to dress too warmly. I started with this, my only non-wool jumper/pullover (I think it's a nylon cotton blend, but I ended up cutting out the tag, so now I can't remember). I love the lace applique and little eyelets, and I also love the shape: generous ribbing at the waist and sleeve cuffs for a fitted look&nbsp;but a bit loose everywhere else. Even though I'm not sure white is my most flattering colour, I keep it for those details.&nbsp;In fact, I'm modelling the cardigan I'm working on knitting on this! Anyway, I haven't felt like shaving in awhile, so I knew I needed to wear trousers, and when looking at the high waisted options, this pair with the pretty toile pattern called out to me. I finished things off with my new hedgehog brooch &amp; silver bracelet &amp; ring. Since everything was quite girly, when I went out I decided to wear my grey oxfords to balance things out a bit.</p> <p>At the start of the day, both the trousers and sweater fit more closely to me; I wish I'd taken photos then! I knew these trousers bag out (does anyone have any suggestions for preventing cotton trousers from stretching?), but I didn't realise the sweater ribbing&nbsp;would stretch too and stop hugging my waist. Weird.</p> <p>I still had a high happiness factor in this outfit though. More girly than tomboy but still perfectly comfortable. It ended up being a bit&nbsp;cooler than I expected, and this was probably a bit too lightweight, but I don't mind a brisk breeze, and as I walked I warmed up.</p> <p>Comments and suggestions are always welcome! My chest looks a bit, um, torpedo-y in the profile shot. I'm not sure why, since I'm wearing my everyday bra. But I suppose that fits with the 50s feel. I'm never sure if 2 item outfits look as intentional as 3 item ones (or dresses), so let me know if this needed a topper to finish it off. </p>
