That dress and those boots - great.&nbsp;I especially love the belt, it lifted the whole outfit.</p> <p>When I was beginning to figure out what works for me and why, I really paid attention to every single detail about the garment type: style, colour&nbsp;and&nbsp;fabric to begin with, then: type of neckline, collar, sleeves, hems, literally anything I could identify. I call it tuning in with my wardrobe.&nbsp;That helped me rule out a lot of options, which in the end helped identify the potential winners later.</p> <p>I would be interested to see some of the dresses you purged and hear why you don't wear them. I think it would be useful to help you figure out what to go for next year - if at all. I discovered that I have a huge rate of dress purges. I love the idea of dresses, I buy them, but I cannot seem to make them work. My purge rate and cost on dresses is double that of the next highest categories. I think it is a symptom of not knowing how too pick a dress.</p> <p> My style leans edgy and dresses are often not edgy at all. This dress, however, is definitely a little bit rock and roll. </p> <p>I styled it with high black boots that are loose at the top to counteract the extra thigh showing. I added my triple belt to make it rock some more. And I took off the necklace I had planned because the dress had plenty of decor on its own. </p> <p>How did I do? Those who know my style, does it match in? </p> <p>I have planned a dress effort again next summer but this is probably my only fall dress.
