These are Vince: they're in a nice cotton with a bit of sheen to it, and I like that they're fitted but not tight. For their first outing,&nbsp;I thought it'd be fun to pair them with this polka dot top, because the dark spots would be echoed in the trousers. But I've realised lately that this top is longer than ideal on me, so I tried tucking it in. That exposed belt loops, at which point I discovered that almost all of my belts fit my waist and are too small for my hips. Luckily, this warm grey one worked; I hope it doesn't clash too much with the grey of the trousers.</p> <p>Once I looked in the full length mirror, I had to laugh: between the billowing white top and slim hipped trousers,&nbsp;I felt like I should climb some rigging with a sword in one hand and a ready witticism on my lips, a la Captain Blood.&nbsp;I've actually never tried fully tucking into trousers without putting a jacket over top before: since the trousers don't hit at my actual waist, it definitely makes me look like a rectangle. In the past, I had a poison eye for that (as a teen, I felt like I looked like a boy, which was emphatically not a good thing), but yesterday I decided to just wear it and see how I felt. To play up the androgyny, I left off jewelry &amp; put my hair back. By the end of day, I felt different but not uncomfortable:&nbsp;I think I could channel my inner Viola &amp;&nbsp;get used to this look.</p> <p>However, since this a new direction for me, I'd really appreciate feedback! Does this work alright?&nbsp;Or should I stick with my typical natural waist emphasis or no waistline at all approach?&nbsp;Any tweaks you'd like to suggest? Do either of these shoes work?&nbsp;</p> <p>Thanks in advance. My feelings aren't easily hurt, so be as honest/blunt as you like. </p>
