(I will probably always wear a slip since my thighs are the most itch-prone part of me.)</p> <p>The colorwork stitch pattern is from a book, Alice Starmore's Charts for fair isle knitting. I made up the pattern for the skirt but it's pretty simple. Basically a straight tube the circumference of my hips all the way up to my widest point, then I decreased gradually up to where I wanted the waistband. The band itself is basically a folded hem with an elastic inserted inside. It's stretchy enough to not need a zipper.
