Great way to celebrate your mum! </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-a-mom-made-skirt-for-mothers-day#post-1489799 Sun, 10 May 2015 14:13:51 +0000 Diana 1489799@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>Happy Mother's Day!&nbsp; </p> <p>I'm going to brunch with my in-laws, and I won't get to celebrate with my own mom until I go to California next week.&nbsp; I thought it would be nice to wear something that reminds me of my mom.&nbsp; I always associate her with full, knee-length skirts - she <i>never, ever</i> wears pants (or tee shirts, or sneakers).&nbsp; She is always lady-like, but never too frilly or fussy.&nbsp; </p> <p>I knew I wanted to wear this black floral skirt, since it's exactly the silhouette she loves, and in fact she sewed it for me ages ago.&nbsp; I paired it with a cream handknit top that is feminine with lots of waist shaping and small puffed sleeves.&nbsp; My Bruno Magli shoes are exactly the type of shoes my mom would wear (high quality Italian leather, black, and refined, although hers would have higher heels).&nbsp; Mom always carries a structured black leather bag, so I dug out the only one I own (mine is quite old and I don't use it often; unlike Mom, I prefer a slouchier bag.)</p> <p>I hope everyone has a lovely Mother's Day!&nbsp; </p> <p>(handknit top, Mom-made skirt, Bruno Magli shoes, Maxx New York bag).</p>
