I think I realized this season that I don't own enough cold weather shoes because I've always felt our season is too short. But it's not so short that only a couple pair of shoes will do - I really need another mid-weight "everyday" option for Dec-Mar temps and these might do the trick. I too just LOVE the color of these. I also like the little cutout at the back. Such a nifty little touch.</p> <p>I actually have got 3 solid months of wear out of these - They're pretty warm, and will work all the way up to the first snowfall.</p> <p>I'll have to admit that wearing this visually 'heavy' footwear was a bit of a style shift for me. (I am usually in the dainty footwear camp.)<br />It's taken a bit of getting used to seeing myself in this very youthful, boyish style. But I think it really ups my style-quotient--as in, I think I stand out a little because people aren't used to seeing people my age in hightops.</p> <p>I think your London print shirt is fabulous. I see no reason a 70 year old shouldn't wear them! &nbsp;I wouldn't say they are *super* light weight but neither are they heavy at all. &nbsp;The only issue I had with them is I have fairly high volume feet with very high arches and the first couple of times I wore them, it was a bit of a struggle to get my foot in. I bought the hightops to wear with my scrubs in the winter, hoping they'd be good when it was a little too wet or chilly for regular sneakers on the commute but when full-on snowboots-and change-shoes-at-work wasn't necessary, but serendipitously, they're also the perfect height for wearing with cropped jeans. (Who am I kidding, I bought them because the color made me gasp in delight. I've never in my 54 years owned shoes this color. They're just gorgeous. And comfortable. Going to a movie: Boden London print shirt (this fall) over random Target tank top, Gap outlet jeans (spring 2015), the new burgundy sneakers. I wore an old black Gap puffer vest over, but didn't get a pic.</p> <p>2. This was actually Thanksgiving: blush J Crew sweater that eats my head (last winter), Lucky Brand slim boyfriend jeans (this fall) with maximal embroidery, sneakers redux. This sweater is one of the least flattering garments I own--my biggish boobs and short neck look terrible in giant turtlenecks and the color is not my best--and yet I enjoy it. It's cuddly, the color looks great with black jeans and burgundy sneaks, and I'm okay with looking 10 pounds heavier and needing a little extra makeup when I wear it. ;)</p> <p>3.) close up of the shoe color.
