The pin was made with the lost wax casting technique. We had lumps of wax, alcohol lamps and old dental tools to form our objects in wax. Our teacher molded all of our objects together, and poured the hot liquid silver in the mold. Afterwards, we had lots of polishing to do. I enjoyed the class so much I took it four times. I can understand not wanting to go into SF. The traffic is something else. Somehow, miraculously, I was able to cut across three lanes of traffic to get into a parking garage near the museum. I hadn't been to this museum in several years. There really is a sense of fun in most of the art. I meant to post this David Hockney picture for Angie. I'm not sure the dog is a Yorkie, but it looks like one with the coloring. The Pendleton jacket is actually pumpkin colored. I drove down to SF on Wednesday. Donner Lake looked liked it was choking. The summit and down the hill were very smoky. Coming back on Friday, it was clear up at the summit, and Donner Lake looked great. Yesterday Tahoe was clear. We went to Taylor Creek where the salmon spawn. I've never seen it so packed. They ran out of parking. NYDJ olive jeans, thrifted jean jacket and white tunic top from Eddie Bauer. </p> <p>3-6. Pictures from SF MOMA. Lots of fun art there. They have a gorgeous fern wall. SF and Marin were very smoky.</p> <p>7-11. Fall color trip yesterday in the Sierra yesterday. It was clear, cold and windy. We also went to Tahoe to see the salmon spawning. In the past we've seen bears there. </p>
