I recently got new black, red and blue blazers, which are a bit longer and slightly oversized, to change up a little bit…. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-927---monochromatic-burgundy-tailored-equestrian#post-2227638 Mon, 27 Sep 2021 19:06:26 +0000 Tanya 2227638@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>Today's WFH outfit is a rare "real" outfit, as opposed to loungewear.&nbsp; &nbsp;I have a strong preference for loungewear when at home, including when working.&nbsp; I keep two ponte blazers, navy and black, at my desk, to throw over whatever I am wearing if I need to turn on the camera during Zoom meetings.&nbsp; The only exceptions are when I am giving talks to the outside community, which was the case this morning, then I feel better in proper clothes.</p> <p>The outfit is a monochromatic burgundy version (my second entry in the color challenge) of Angie's Tailored Equestrian Ensemble from 2016: equestrian jacket, layering top, crop kick flare pants and sleek booties.&nbsp; &nbsp;I happen to have burgundy-strap watch too (story below), and cross-body bag would have been worn if going outside.&nbsp; &nbsp;If it were colder, there is matching short coat as well.&nbsp; &nbsp;The interesting thing is that all the items are pretty old (5-10 years), so it was fun bringing them out.</p> <p>The watch story is that I got this MJ watch over 10 years ago, in similar colors to the first Find - mine was silver hardware with pewter leather band.&nbsp; After lots of wear the band was destroyed, and I could never find the correct replacement - the watches were discontinued, and the shape was unique and not reproducible by other retailers.&nbsp; This summer I became interested in looking for a strap replacement again, and after lot of online searching I found it in different color (burgundy) on a random Dutch website, so happy ending.</p> <p>Looking at the outfit, I am thinking that (some which I knew before):<br />1) I need new burgundy booties - these are OK, but not the comfiest and I would prefer a sleeker and taller shaft<br />2) I also need a simple burgundy layering top - fitted blazers and loose silk tops are not the best partners, as the tops tend to bunch.<br />3) while I like all these older tailored shapes, my burgundy capsule could benefit from some looser updated shapes, specifically a relaxed pantsuit and midi coat (these are already on my wishlist) </p>
