I’ll probably wear them with the top eyelets unlaced anyway, because I prefer that look. For the record I have a 15” calf and long legs for my height. As is the whole outfit. I was highly tempted by the shorter Crave boots last winter - they seemed soooo comfy - but am trying to limit my boot collection to simply "excessive" rather than "Imelda". Wearing this today, coincidentally the same day that Angie posted combat boot outfits!  The jeans are that 90's-ish faded black wash that I love and the sweater is handknit cashmere.   Also speaking of combat boots, I think I found my mid calf combat boots!  I ordered these Taos Tall Crave boots the other day and they fit and seem comfy.  I haven't had time to try them on with outfits and things yet, so will make a final decision this weekend.  (I am also torn about trying to hunt them down in the oiled black leather, which I would prefer but seems to be sold out everywhere; the pair I currently have are the "rugged leather" which is kind of a brushed matte finish).
