As comfy as they are, they drive me nuts with how baggy they get so quickly.  They are supposed to be a skinny fit , but really, they are more like straight-cuts. I cuff them because they are anything but skinny at the ankle.  I am the single WORST shopper in that I am always in a hurry, don't like trying on in stores, and am impatient.  I think  it fits , tear the tags off, then realize a few hours later that I don't like what I'm wearing. Honestly, I am exhibit a for ADHD in shopping and fitting.  I have a fair bit of difference between my hips and waist and things tend to creep up on me (belts included)  and bunch up . The crotch (I hate that word, sorry) is super bunchy in these pants too. Style twin!!!!  :) :)  You look adorable, but I cannot be objective. This is a totally "me" outfit, and I think the photo angle is more to blame for any "grandpa" effect than the actual jeans... Are these the amazing cream BR skinnies from last winter? Those were a lemming item. Jeans fit with belts is tricky huh - I see these as looking fine but it is frustrating to have to consistently adjusting them. So typical . The white loafers are easy to dress up, but the Kors sneakers are really not part of it. Both footwear options look good to me, but I do prefer the cage sandals here to add dressiness to the more casual clothing component. Re the jeans, if they are a bit big I'd try letting them sit a little lower on your hips and have the belt be a notch or two larger for a more nonchalant cool vibe. Love this color combo on you! Crisp and graphic, yet still a touch soft. Both shoes read on the more casual end to me, so to keep things professional I think mixing in more dressy will be just the ticket. You can certainly sport those sneakers in a creative-business way. Looking forward to seeing how your capsule comes along. I haven't worn a belt with pants or jeans in years - but now, fearing I'll get a YLF fashion ticket if I don't, I did a cognac bag/belt combo. These jeans are a little big , and I had the belt a little too tight for the pants,  and I ended up with the dreaded Grampa effect.  Which of course I would not have noticed if I wasn't posing for a picture.   I do love the black/white/cognac look though , and am definitely keeping this in rotation.   The two pair of shoes are no-brainers and I was happy to find them.  I've been eyeing the Vince leather slip-on sneaks for 6 months at a local boutique, but at $225 ish, I felt that that was a lot for something I wasn't yet sure of. This  Michael Kors version is super-soft, cushiony and has the right narrow fit (and was half the price) .  The white loafers are an Angie-inspired pick. After seeing them with her dress earlier today, it gave me an idea for some upcoming work dressing .  Brown's Couture loafers are so wonderful - soft leather with a rubber sole and stacked heel.  And - super on-sale too!
