Thank you so much for posting these... After finding it I was pregnant it have had a hard time figuring out how to be fashionable... Mostly just triaging my clothes to see what still fits and might still work.

I just returned from a visit to my grandmother's where I told her about the pregnancy. She was so excited that she took me to the maternity store the next day and forced me into all of these pastel tent-like creations. It was well meant, but pretty horrifying.

One of the things I so enjoyed about your maternity style was how playful you continued to be. Sometimes an outfit was all about embracing/highlighting the bump; sometimes the bump was less visible and other parts of your body were emphasized instead. You wore favorite outfits and tried out new shapes. You dove into pattern and color even more than you had before.
Basically, being pregnant seemed to provide inspiration for you to try new things, but it was a continuation of your constantly evolving style rather than a detour, if that makes sense. I can clearly see the same aspects at play in your maternity and non-maternity style, and it looked like every day you were having a blast getting dressed, even if you may have felt differently while coping with a changing body.

You look great in all these! I hope I look half as good during this pregnancy. I have a hard time making my pre-pregnancy clothes work though since I'm normally quite rectangular shaped.

A few months ago I posted my first trimester lookbook, a collection of the outfits I wore those first three months. This is way overdue (ha!), but I'm finally starting to get around to posting the other trimesters. Here is the first part of 2nd trimester (weeks 14-20).

This is the stage where I was still able to squeeze into my pants early on (week 15). And I was just starting to show off the bump with my stretchy bodycon dresses (#14-15), although I could still hide it a bit with structured dresses (#11). Finally OK to wear empire waist dresses and tunics (definitely a no-no during first trimester when you're trying to hide the bump). Still wearing lots of belts to define the waist. Sometimes hiding the bump with oversize ponchos (#26, 36). Swapping out pencil skirts for stretchy tube skirts to achieve the same effect (#27). And still mostly wearing my non-maternity clothes--the only maternity outfit was #37 (which was from my prior pregnancies). I decided I didn't really care for my old maternity clothes anymore, but I didn't want to buy a whole new set of maternity clothes for my last baby, so I decided to get creative with my pre-pregnancy wardrobe.

Stay tuned for the next installments--I'm planning to do this for the rest of 2nd trimester, 3rd trimester and 4th trimester (postpartum)!

7-14. Week 15
15-20. Week 16
21-27. Week 17
28-33. Week 18
34. Week 19
35-37. Week 20
