In my world, stripes and leopard are both essentially neutrals so it's a no-brainer to put them together. Plus they are on my list of "things that look great together," which also includes "polka dots and stripes" and "polka dots and leopard." One thing that is helpful when you are new is to just look at lots of photos. Try doing a Google Image search for something like "pattern mixing outfits" and see what you see!
