LOL, thanks Rita! Your uniboob necklace outfit looks great. Petites get such a raw deal with most retailers - fewer colors, sizes only available online, etc, etc.

Ha! I'm glad I opened this thread! I am the one who posted about wearing a sports bra to purposely create a place for a long necklace to go.

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....mage-to-ik

Your final version turned out very cool! No need for tweaks. I am also only wearing the petite sizes in the seamed skirt. The colors come and go very fast. You need to grab your size as soon as it becomes available because it will sell out!

@Christieanne, The sports bra idea is brilliant - thanks for pointing it out as I didn't see that thread. I'll have to see if a half-cami will do the trick as well.

I like your final solution. Commiserating that sometimes it really is a progression of tries before you feel it's right. I don;t wear long necklaces often because of the very same boobage situation lol. Citygirldc (I think) posted recently about wearing a sports tank under her top which resolved that issue because the bra does not have a built in valley. Might be worth a try?
Love your use of color!

Thanks ladies.

@Laura: There's nothing quite like walking out with a necklace wrapped around one boob, is there? I still don't get how long necklaces work for other people.

@Angie: Thank you for approving #1. I did prefer the outfit without a topper as well but I would have been too cold without it.

@Suz: Thank you for the shoe love and the commiseration. Sorry they sold out of the blue in your size already. Guess you'll be stalking NAS too, right?

Well, I know the feeling. It is frustrating when you feel you've almost got it right, but not quite. I had a similar experience yesterday. But I really like your closing outfit. And LOVE those shoes. So glad you are enjoying the petite skirt. Last I looked it was only available in black in petite sizes. Well, at least in my size. Sigh...

Oh, I hate that whole "necklace migrates to boob" problem! I like the colors you've chosen - IMO, since you went bold with the shoes and skirt, the all-black top half works well.

Yesterday was date night, aka we decided half an hour before we left that we should go out to dinner.

It was cold out, so I needed to a) cover my legs and b) be able to fit what I wore underneath my lined magenta trench.

1) The base layers. I was wearing this purple t-shirt with jeans earlier in the day and threw on the blue halogen pencil skirt, black tights and my green Fluevogs. The top and skirt are much closer in value in real life, so it does have the effect of a column of color.

2) Base layer continued: The shoes are hard to see in the other photos, so here's a closeup.

3) Green cardigan to bookend the shoes. The cardigan just looked shapeless and sad. It's a round neck, not a v-neck and it gathers slightly at its bottom band. I really need a bright yellow or acid green v-neck cardigan to replace this one.

4) Black v-neck cardigan + green necklace for bookending. I liked this look, but the long necklace won't stay in place over my chest. It will pool in the middle or one strand will loop itself around one side.

5) Final outfit with black v-neck cardigan and green necklace looped around my neck twice. Not a 10, but at least I tried, right?

On a side note, this is the second time I've worn this petite pencil skirt and I felt pretty comfortable. I'm going to return the yellow regular size skirt (sob) and then grab whatever petite colors are available at NAS.

Thanks for reading. Honest and tactful commentary welcome.
