I am wondering what would happen if you tucked the shirt. Right now, its length kind of cuts you in half, which can contribute to the "frumpy" feeling you said you were going back and forth with. If you can get the top so it's maybe a third (or a little more) of your body instead of a half, that might help the frumpy feeling.
