I've realized recently that I've really been buying pants too short, but I have liked Lands End for the ability to choose the inseam and they have some curvy fits. Their fit 2 with stretch in the petite sizes works for me. (I just wish I bought mine a bit longer; I bought them before I knew of YLF and realize now that I tend to buy pants too short, which is a funny realization for a short gal.)

ETA: I have a 26 in. waist and curvy hips and haven't had any gapping with the fit 2 pants, if that helps any.

Happy shoes!

Do you want structured pants or would ponte work? I have some Vince Camuto ponte straight leg pants that fit very well, and being that they're ponte maybe you would have an easier time finding a good fit vs a more structured pant? Just a thought. Good luck.

adorable, i don't think of myself as curvy, but i have to have the waist taken in on almost all of my pants.
lately i've had really good success at BR, WHBM and the Gap. it been a while since i tried anything, but in the past i've had good luck with talbots as well.

Try the Limited. I've worn the Exact Stretch for a few years, and I'm now on to the Drew. They also have a curvy fit, but they were loose on me (10" difference between waist and seat). I also have success with Express Editor and Columnist.

Love the green top!

LOFT trousers always fit me well and it sounds like we have a similar shape. Grey is always my go to in pants too but a subtle plaid or stripe might add some variety?

Pants are about the hardest thing to fit, I think. Pants and bras, probably. Maybe boots, too.

I think you've got some good leads here, though. Also, don't discount the possibility of taking pants in at the waist. It sounds like a pain (and why don't women get alterations for free?) but at the same time, it can really solve the fit issue at long last. If they are unlined it is not difficult or too expensive.

Fun shoes!!

Have you tired the EXPRESS Editors?

Cute shoes! I've been mulling over buying something cute like that for myself. There's just something about fun footwear that brightens your day!

I can't offer any help with the pants, but I just want to commend you for trying them again. I too didn't wear pants for years but recently went back to wearing them. Having variety is nice. If it's been a long time since you've worn pants, I think you should be able to find something to fit properly now, because there are so many more styles out there for curvier gals than there used to be. Good luck!

BR Jacksons are also great for a wider leg silhouette. Eddie Bauer has a curvy cut trouser which I really like.

carter: Thanks! How do the Hamptons fit compared to the Sloans? I would prefer a pretty slim fit, but it's hard to find one that's not inappropriately tight in the rump!

I always seem to wear this hunter green top with grey bottoms, and I did it again today ...

... but I wore the awesomest, silliest shoes. A happy find at Buffalo Exchange.

So, er, I realize that I'm having some pants problems. For years I wore pants approximately never. Now I want to wear pants, and after getting rid of all the ones that were too big, too small, weird-shaped, etc., I only own two pairs: these charcoal grey ones from Anthro, and black BR Sloans.

I can't figure out what else would be useful, or where to get it. I tried the Sloans in lighter colors, and they look awful - too big in the thigh, and whiskery in the crotch. Somehow neither is noticeable in the black pair, which fits like a dream.

Suggestions on colors or styles? Places to look for them? I am very curvy and tend to have a tough time finding pants that go in enough at the waist (or possibly pants that go out enough in the tush).
