On the one hand I have several in silk (no Hermes, though!) and appreciate silk as the classic fabrication of elegance. OTOH, the silk ones tend to fly around when I am walking fast, so I've gravitated to tissue wool or various blends of silk, cotton, &amp; wool that tend to stay put. Perhaps I need a heavier silk. We still have two feet of snow, but our roads are more or less bare and dry. Yesterday I celebrated the lovely weather&nbsp;by wearing my trench and Chucks for the first time this year.</p> <p>My outfit is loosely based on Angie's Classics and Pastels Formula, which I instantly fell in love with. I decided to do a dark column, though, and added light outerwear, shoes and a scarf. I went to a work meeting plus an afternoon tea date with a good friend.</p> <p>The outfit: Navy cashmere v-neck, navy slim&nbsp;wool&nbsp;trousers, white Converse, &nbsp;stone trenchcoat, pink floral silk scarf, black leather tote.</p> <p>The scarf is worth a little extra mentioning: It is a thrift find from earlier this year. It&nbsp;is by Ralph Lauren and&nbsp;a lovely floral in fat, fabulous silk. I showed it to my brother who thought it looked exactly like one our beloved Granny used to wear. Maybe that's part of why I like it so much? It's certainly not my typical colors or style, but I love it anyway.</p> <p>I must admit that I felt great in this, although it was on the brink of being too cold for it. What do you think? Does it work?&nbsp; </p>
