What a pretty shirt! The pattern mixing looks fine to me, though I am curious what color the topper is; if the shirt is very vibrant and the topper is a muted color it might read a bit off but there should be enough white in both to keep it "going". I think that shirt will be lovely on a warmer day with these pants, sans topper, and light colored shoes

I really like the silhouette and the jacket with the pants and heels. I am not as convinced by the specific pattern matching but it's hard to see the details of the jacket and top together in the photos.

Aubergine, thanks. Part of the reason that I knew I could make this (and most tees) work is because my office rarely gets warm enough to take off my topper. So the topper is the focus & I think of the shirt under it as an accessory.
LL, I actually thought about wearing a lighter color shoe, but it was to much contrast for me. Maybe next time.

Definitely works!

I actually saw that top at the Gap the other day and thought it was cute, but really casual-looking, so I'm impressed with how you dressed it up just enough.

Totally works imo. The top looks fantastic on you & I think the shoes work. Kitten heels & pointed toes are on trend & are great especially in a business setting.

Love the knit top with the pattern mixed moto and black ankle pants. Totally works. I'm personally not crazy about the shoes because for some reason they read as much dressier/fussier than the rest of the ensemble (but I don't think they look bad). I think it is more that everything else feels very laid back and the delicate heel of the shoe makes them feel less-so. Or it may be that the dark color makes them read as more formal than the rest of the outfit. Perhaps same style of shoe in lighter color to pick up on the colors in the shirt and/or moto or same color of shoe with a more casual silhouette would be worth a try next time you take this outfit for a spin? All in all I think it works quite well and great job with the pattern mixing!

when angie posted this a few days ago, i was so excited. i had already picked this outfit out in my head, this post was the push i needed to wear it.
~non leather moto - check
~fluid knit top - check
~ankle length pants-check
(i have both ankle strap shoes, and a pair of d'orsay pumps, but i didn't think either of them worked with this outfit)
but, bonus points, for the subtle floral in the moto and the tee. and i'm pattern mixing!
i'm so impressed with myself, LOL. really, as angie mentioned, this year retailers are actually making it easy to find business casual that works in offices that don't allow jeans! this outfit really helped it hit all the right notes for work, casual, yet still professional, professional yet not corporate.

as usual, all feedback and comments welcome. this is my 1st attempt at pattern mixing, does it work?
