I especially like to mix various aspects of Modern Classic, Euro Chic and&nbsp; Rock&amp;Roll personas.&nbsp; Lately there have been a lot of retro influences in my dressing, particuarly the 70's. Those shoes look fab on you! </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-227-two-ensemble-based-outfits-in-a-single-day#post-1622322 Sun, 28 Feb 2016 16:04:04 +0000 Tanya 1622322@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>Yesterday I had a fun and really busy social day, so used the opportunity to dress up a little for one of the events.</p> <p>I was meeting a friend for chocolate brunch earlier in the day.&nbsp; The weather&nbsp; was chilly yet sunny, so I decide to be brave and wear a skirt, and was also itching to put my new TopShop Jolene pumps through paces.&nbsp; So the outfit was based on Angie's recent post of <a href="http://youlookfab.com/2016/02/12/ensemble-top-sweater-vest-denim-skirt/" rel="nofollow">Ensemble: Top, Sweater Vest &amp; Denim Skirt </a>.&nbsp;&nbsp; I combined three very old pieces: Gap light denim shirt, dark Arden B denim skirt and Express houndstooth sweater vest.&nbsp; I love the skirt as it has a slight mermaid shape yet front and back slits make it easy to walk in.&nbsp; I added nude fake-fishnets for warmth.&nbsp;&nbsp; I kept the 70's theme with the mixed-media navy peacoat and floppy burgundy hat.&nbsp; I echoed the hat with a burgundy polka dot scarf and finished the outfit with a black&amp;white cross body bag.&nbsp; I am happy to report that the shoes were perfectly comfy for 45 min of walking.</p> <p>In the evening I went to&nbsp; a different friend's place for a board game night.&nbsp; They have an adorable puppy which means a lots of time playing on the floor, so I needed to change into something more relaxed. I put together a second winter version of the <a href="http://youlookfab.com/2016/02/26/ensemble-neutral-spring-drape/" rel="nofollow">Ensemble: Neutral Spring Drape </a>, this time in light neutrals.&nbsp;&nbsp; I combined Joie Tambrel asymmetric sweater in taupe cashmere with Habitual stone/taupe skinnies with embossed texture, and Helmut Lang asymmetric cream Villous sweatshirt with fun diagonal lines.&nbsp; I played with the big cuff on the skinnies as the colors were fairly low contrast.&nbsp; I added a cream beanie and scarf in light tones, taupe leather bag and my Converse Highness sneakers.&nbsp; I needed to throw a puffer on the top of everything, and chose my bone Uniqlo puffer bought earlier this fall to stay in the same color palette.&nbsp; I sized up on the puffer when I bought it so it is about a half a size too big, so that I can wear it over bulky layers like in this outfit.&nbsp; It works well for that purpose, yet I worry that it still looks too big.&nbsp; I'd be curious to hear your impressions on that.<br /><a href="http://youlookfab.com/2016/02/12/ensemble-top-sweater-vest-denim-skirt/" rel="nofollow"></a> </p>
