Love the layered "clutches."  I put my already worn stuff back in the closet, but I do my own version of what you are talking about by typically wearing the item (especially if a shirt) again in the same week before laundering. I'd love to have one of these freestanding clothes rails to store already worn clothes, but I have no room for that. Most of the time the things are stored on my easy chair and I hate to put them on the bed evertime I want to sit on it. So I try to have as few pieces as possible there between wardrobe and laundry basket. I love both of your outfits, I especially like the second one. I love how matchy matchy it is. And I like your hair the way it is now, but I think slightly longer would look just as good. Which length is easier to care for? It gives me ideas for my red skirt. i like the fact that it's polished visually interesting and solves a problem. I am not as much a stickler for worn but still clean clothing as you. In my wardrobe if it passes the sniff test it's clean and is folded or hanged until it's worn again. I tend to have long stretches between each time I wear a top (generally). Bottoms are in heavy rotation for me now. I love systems and analytical approaches! I'm less good at actually implementing them so bravo to you! Do you wear jeans? I wear jeans almost all of the time but don't like to wash them often as I think they will last longer if I don't. If you do wear jeans, how do you work them into your system? I usually do most laundry once a week but my jeans might only get done once a month (I have multiple pairsof denim). The only thing I hang back in the regular closet after wear are my skirts. They can go the longest without needing to be washed, and the whole lot gets washed/dry cleaned before I put them away for the season anyway. I like both outfits and it's hard to pick a fav. #1 is a classic that I love to wear - the skirt/button down/denim jacket is a FFBO of mine. #2 is trendy and cool, I love the oxfords and striped shirt. I'm going to have to copy that version! Ideally, I'd like to have a part of wardrobe where I'd hang or put already worn stuff, but at the moment it is not possible.  This approach actually works for me really well. The clean and already-worn-but-still-wearable things don't mix up, I get to be a bit more creative with what I put on, I am forced to reuse the clothes quickly as I don't like seeing too many things outside the wardrobe and the laundry pile is significantly reduced. Win-win. On Friday I had to pop to school for a quick catch-up with my son's teacher. I realised over time that I tend to start with button-ups as the basics for the school visit items. This time I reused the white one <a rel="nofollow" href="http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-to-the-funeral">I wore the day before</a> which I had on for only  a short period of time, so it was still fresh although a bit less crisp. Still, it was not a laundry pile item.  Later in the day when I had to pop out to run some errands the shirt was no longer usable, but the skirt and hose were carry-overs. I reused the same principle of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-double-stripes-expearment">double stripes</a> as worn recently and just changed the shoes. In both cases I wore my denim jacket. I did not wear it when I was at the school, but it was a welcome topper for walking outside both times. Btw, I've shortened the bangs in the meantime. I need a haircut soon anyway, but after a winter when slightly shorter hair was more practical for squashing under hats, I am trying to decide what length to go for now.
