Thanks again!

Claire, you are of course correct. I guess it was just the sweaters that _I_ tried with the top that weren't working.

Suz, the welt did stay up. I adjusted it fairly frequently, more to make sure it was staying up, but it wasn't in a fussy way at all.

Aubergine, the booties are Miz Mooz, from a couple of years ago. I couldn't resist as the colour was bang on my colour palette. :)

Love the shirt, and it looks perfect under the turquoise sweater! Also, where did you find turquoise booties? I think I need some.

Gorgeous on you! I love the rich teal/ turquoise and it's fun and a bit unexpected with the B&W gingham!

Did the turn under stay okay for you? I think you nailed the proportions!

I really like this one. The color is gorgeous on you and it looks like you nailed the proportions between the sweater and shirt.

I am not sure if I am right since pics can be deceiving but I believe you are a bit of an inverted triangle and I found the horizontal striped sweater in the last attempt to widen your shoulder line and the dark straight pant minimized your lower body throwing it off a bit.

Oh, nice! First off, I love the turquoise on you. Turning the welt up certainly worked like a charm (and an idea I'd like to steal). I love the checked shirt on you.

FWIW, I have seen Angie layer scooped boat necked sweaters and shells over button front shirts all the time. At first I thought it looked funny, but then, as usual, my eye adjusted to the look and I realized that it's a more modern way of doing the preppy shirt-under-sweater. So don't discount your more scoop-necked and wider V-necked sweaters for layering. They might work too!

Carla, thanks for the encouragement. And LOL Sharan, I hadn't realized just how close the shoes and sweater were in colour until today.

I prefer to layer v-necks over shirts too. I like the necklines that way :). I think you have done a fantastic job here. The only thing I might do is let the sleeves of the shirt peek out too. Have fun!

Elizabeth P! You are 'working' so hard at these styling dilemmas and I am learning so much from what you are working through!

I think this outfit works, and I do love the 'matchy matchy' with the shoes. Good outfit, and worth a repeat.

I refuse to give up! At least, not quite yet.

A black gingham shirt has been on my wish list for awhile, and I recently got this one from J Crew. Yay, one that fits! I must have tried on about a half dozen sweaters this morning to wear with it, and they all had necklines too wide, too deep, too scooped... because in the past, I was wearing them alone or with tees, and that requires a totally different neckline. At least it does on me. So I ended up with this cashmere turquoise v-neck I got at Costco about 2-3 yars ago, which I don't think I wore at all last year... because the neckline wasn't deep enough. Oh, the irony. Anyway, I think it works quite well, so I'm glad I didn't purge it! I took some advice from Suz that she posted on a recent thread and turned the welt under to shorten the sweater a bit,

What do you think? How did I do? Any and all suggestions welcome!
