I think it is due to the fact that I am wearing it with my pumps. It's roomy enough for full suits underneath, which is important here, as it gets too cold to venture outside with a suit only. Up to now my only option with suits was a parka, and even so, the parka was a bit tight and would scrunch the jackets' sleeves. </p> <p>Kiwichick, I agree that the sleeves are too long in the photo. Thank you for pointing it out. And if I were to wear the coat like this, I'd have them altered. But I guarantee you that when I will be wearing those winter gloves (and more layers underneath), the sleeves will be fine. I'm trying to own it and make it work with this dress. </p> <p>Deborah, despite my own feelings about the colour, I have tried not to put shampoo in it for the first 48hrs in order to preserve the colour. Reds and coppers are so quick to fade. But you are right, I think it has settled a bit. </p> <p>Prudence, thank you for this! I am following your advice. I also think it is a touch loose under the arms. Maybe it will show more when I shorten it,so it's good to also take in the sides. I will also do as you say, in fact I was thinking of temporarily gluing the hem with clothing tape to see the fit. The shoulders and the hips fit really nicely, but I think your instincts about the length are good: 1-2 inches up would put it right at the top of your knee and nicely emphasize your long shins and you might look taller--not that you need it .</p> <p>Also, if you do take in the sides, maybe just a little above the waist just under the arm? It might define your rib cage a bit. It depends on whether you prefer your dresses to fit tightly in the waist. It was over my budget but I bought it anyway because the chance of finding something like this, that I need and that fits me is so unique.</p> <p>Below: What I wore today.<br /> - One of my new dresses: it is a Frank Lyman print wrap dress, very comfortable.
