Thank you ladies! Thanks for the kind words! The pain has finally subsided and I'm fine now :)

@Firecracker: I do wonder about jean alterations, but my issue isn't that simple. I have a large waist compared to my hips. I'm thinking about a 2 dress-size difference. I have asked about jean alterations before and some tailors just don't want to perform a side seam alteration! I will check with my tailor if it's possible though.

@Angie: thank you. As I look at the photo I posted, I realized that I do look on trend and quite like the outfit. I think my biggest problem was the fit of the pants. This is why I felt awful! When pants dig into my tummy I'm just not happy - just like my fussy feet!

@Diana: good to know that the footbed is good! It's the one I know that doesn't have a rocker sole, therefore I won't be tripping all over myself due to overpronation!

As for the outfit - it's just me and pants. I hate digging waistlines :(

@Danskogirl: I must be an extreme apple because the rockstars gave me a massive muffin top I purchase 3 once and had to return all. The next suez up resulted in massive knee bagging.

@rae: thanks! I'm actually liking the sneakers look! I always thought that I'd look too "cute" or "casual classic" in them but with my tastes (patent leather, metallics, glitter - yes GAUDY!), I think I can rock-and-roll it a bit and my style goal us definitely comfort and fashion combined. That's the only way for me to be happy :)

@amiable: see, I can totally see YOU rock my outfit this seems more your style than mine please please do copy and post a WIW! Although this outfit isn't "me", I can still see myself wearing this again - but with comfier, well-fitted jeans!!!!

And yes, I've come across that article! I retread this over downtime today. They mentioned a Earthies in there and I've owned a few of them. If you do get a Earthies, make sure they fit you well because having your feet flopping around in too-big Earthies shoes HURT. In the end, Earthies really hurt my flat feet. I think if you have arches, you can try them!

Naot generally sells narrower widths, but it doesn't hurt to try!!!!

@Una: PJ jeans sound fun! I wish I was into them but I'm very fond of slim-fit styles for bottoms. Ahh we shall see, I guess!

@Suz: thanks for the sneaker and tube skirt idea!!!! I'm going to give it a shot! As for the jeans - I'll see if I can get alterations next time. I've lost all hope in jeans that I think the only way to go is custom-making them or having them altered!

What Angie said. You look great even if you felt lousy.

I would look at jean recommendations from some of the IT and apple ladies here. Your pair is out there somewhere, just like your comfy/ edgy sandals. And I wear my sneakers with tube skirts. Super juxtaposition.

Yay! Those Naots you got have the same footbed as my Ashley sandals and I think it is the most comfortable footbed they make (at least for narrower feet) because the foam sole adds even more shock absorption than just the cork footbed. And even though it's foam it wears like iron (seriously I usually wear down the heels of my shoes within 2 seasons but my naots just keep going and going. I retire them when the bands stretch out too much, not when the sole wears out, which never happens with any other shoes.) The Ashleys are a slide which is why I did not recommend them for you, but I'm glad you found ones that work!

Outfit looks good, and I think you've integrated the sneakers into it very well. I'm sorry it didn't feel fab, though.

MsKatieKat, I have sandal envy! Those are terrific--edgy with comfort, and little studs! I'm happy for you!
Your outfit looks totally fab, but comfort counts, too, so it's too bad it didn't feel as good as it looks. Hope tomorrow feels better.
You may need to just get jeans or pants altered. If you have a small waist in relation to hips and thighs, the waist can be altered. Meanwhile, dresses suit you beautifully and you love them--and now you've got the sandals to go with them.

Thanks Deb! The new sandals are REALLY comfy! I had to walk around in them and I didn't feel pain. I will really truly test it when I walk on pavement tomorrow though. I will give you all a report ;)

@Dee: Being able to wear a dress year round - I'm not sure what it is for me. I think I just really really love dresses. They are easy - you throw them on and go out the door. Not much thought is needed. Then again - I tend to be drawn to jersey or structured ponte knits, so they truly are easy care dresses! They suit my personality because I really love the feminine look of them, but I tend to veer towards the edgy side, which I simply fulfill with accessories.

Pants are weird for me. I've never found one that fits - of course, except the mentioned Rachel Roy jeans. I really need to debut them in YLF one of these days, but I'm having problems with selecting non-cold-weather tops right now!

I pretty much live in jeans, with occasional jersey dresses in the summer and sweater dresses in the winter, so I definitely need jeans! I'm always impressed when I see people wearing dresses year round, because I just couldn't do it.

I think the graphic dress juxtaposition sounds awesome! Especially with all the fun colored sneakers available at the moment.

@Aida: yeah. In theory this outfit DOES look good. It does meet all the design and proportion checkmarks. I just wish I understand why I always either feel like stuffed sausage in jeans or I look like I'm wearing pools of saggage (if I size up). I'm nearly giving up. Rachel by Rachel Roy has the best jeans on me but only if they're flares (still in my wardrobe). I plan to wear them eventually with the moto vest. Tried the skinnies and boyfriends in the same brand and it doesn't fit as wonderfully as the flares.

You know what though? I'm perfectly fine with flares being the only jeans that fit now that I think about it. Flares don't give me the saggy leg syndrome because it's loose in the knee!

Thanks ladies :)

@Dee: if the striped dress fit me, the sneakers would look absolutely wonderful with them. I find that the trick to edging the outfit out with sneakers (my way) is to pick a very graphic, structured (ponte) dress. I'm not sure if a bold graphic shift (I tend to go for jersey) would work as well, but it's worth a shot! I'm definitely willing to try sneakers with a dress. This used to be a cringy thing for me until I developed the graphic dress concept in my head!

As for jeans... *sigh* I'm a hopeless case. Do we really need them?

I think this looks quite good, MKK, sporty but streamlined and still pretty. (There's that great sweater, love it!) I understand not feeling like yourself, though. The sneaks would definitely be fun with your skirts/dresses for a more severe style juxtaposition. You can work it! Jeans are tough, but I'm sure there's a brand out there for you. At least you still have your comfy dresses and skirts to tide you over while you search (if you decide to).

Glad you have some comfortable shoes to work with while you sort things out! I think your outfit looks fine with the sneakers but if the jeans aren't comfortable, it's probably worth looking into other options. There are some people who rock sneakers with dresses and look fab, and hopefully your new sandals will help too, since I know you're not a big fan of pants.

If you do keep trying jeans, I agree that the brand makes all the difference. I pretty much buy jeans in one of three brands and rarely even bother trying on others anymore...

The sneakers look great with your outfit. It's too bad that the jeans were not that comfortable. Maybe getting a larger size and wear a stretchy belt or some elastic or drawstring waisted pants would help for the days that you want more comfort.

First of all, I would like to thank you lovely Fabbers for all the sympathies, kind words, suggestions and comments on my thread on shoes for my arthritic feet. This truly means so much to me. I've read your comments, took notes and did so e research. I'm happy to say that I've come up with a few solutions to deal with my arthritic feet, which I will share with you later.

Today's outfit is a total detraction from my personal style. I do NOT wear sneakers - but these are the only pair I have that can handle my arthritic feet. The pain is not as bad as yesterday, but there was no way I'd risk the pain again by going back to my heeled Aravons or back to my too-flexible-soled Benvados. My research says that rigid soles and having a secure hold of the feet in the shoes are the best sort of shoes for arthritis. I'm so happy to have impulse bought these patent Fitflops last January as they fulfill those requirements!

Why this outfit is awesome:
Truthfully? It's not. I can't breathe in these jeans, my muffin top was popping out, and the white emphasized my bloated feeling. I needed something to go with these sneakers but nothing is work-friendly (I don't wear short shorts to work). I had a gorgeous teal/white/black stripe ponte dress but it was too small for me and too uncomfortable. Between the dress and this? I had to pick the more comfortable option

What I don't like:
This is just an outfit I had to pull out to be comfortable, just so my arthritic foot can heal. Nothing awful about this. It's just not ME

Items:
Sweater: Zaria
Tank: Cynthia Rowley
Jeans: American Eagle
Sneakers: Fitflop

Style discovery:
I need these sneakers. Now I have to accommodate sneakers as my kind of edgy, mainly because Fitflop sneakers are seriously amazing for my painful feet.

Also: I need to come up with a casual, comfortable frock or tube skirt outfit that will help me in days when I'm not feeling well but have to pull myself together and work. An easy, fail safe, effortless. instant polish with a comfier outfit where I just throw it on and not think about it. Pants are just not cutting it for me :(

In other news:
I went to the NAOT store today with the recommendations of the lovely, Diana in mind. I didn't find her sandal but what I did find is a very helpful salesperson who spent a lot of time listening to me and my foot issues and I walked out of the store with a pair of lower wedged platform sandals that made my feet feel like heaven (despite the lingering pain). It was on sale. And here's the best part: it met my COMFORT and EDGY requirement! I nearly gave up on NAOTS because I can't get the heeled brands to work for me. I guess I should've tried the lower wedges instead ;)

Here's what I got:

Nice eh?
