Super Cute. Actually, I think the classic touch of the blouse MAKES the look. More chic. A very streamlined and flattering look, Traci.

I like how you are putting so much thought into your outfits. I like what you wore today, and agree with Suz that you might want to try it with a longer cardigan.

I agree that the seasonal clothing transition is difficult, especially when there is little proper "spring" or "autumn" weather.

I struggle with the seasonal transition, too. I think those of us in more extreme climates have this problem in part because we get so little transitional weather. So typically we only have a few suitable pieces and since they don't get much wear during the year we are sort of at a loss when it comes to styling them. Or we end up trying to "autumnize" summer things, which sometimes doesn't work that well -- it might look good but fail in the use, so we're boiling or freezing.

I think that's astute, Suz. A few days ago Beth Ann made the comment that she always struggles a bit settling in as the weather changes (paraphrasing...hope I got it close to right) and I realized that fall dressing is adding to my hand wringing.

I like the idea of a longer cardi very much. I have a longer, bulkier navy cardigan on its way to me. It would have been good here. My existing boyfriend cardigans are all warm colored and at the dry cleaners.

Traci, I love how you are posting so many of your outfits, however you feel about them. This one looks really soft and pretty on you. I am wondering how you feel about trying a longer cardigan (if you have one)? I mean a midi or maxi type one...I think the proportion would be a fun change. Would love to hear your thoughts on the outfit as they develop.

I think part of what you're going through is related to a lot of change at once! Not just in the personal realm, but also in fashion terms -- hair colour and cut and weight change leading to some extent to an alteration in body type. No wonder what worked before does not seem to work any more! And all this happening while the fashion world is transitioning more towards a different silhouette....

Traci on "WIW- friday"

Dressing today cued me into a few things.

1. A couple of weeks ago I said I was needing higher contrast in my outfits. I realized that was wrong. I'm drawn more towards darker and lighter colors, but I don't need the contrast in the outfit. Charcoal and camel used to be my top two colors. Now I'm finding I want lighter grays or full on black, not the more mid tones.

2. I never see myself as a classic or feminine dresser, but I realized today that I do need some classic touches in my outfit. I first tried this with a more modern Tshirt and decided it needed the simple silk blouse to ground everything.

3. We have full on fall weather today and I excitedly pulled out my favorite booties from last year and found them heavy and clunky. Maybe I'll adapt or maybe I need more refined shoes this year.

4. I had a really hard time posting this one because although I have lots of thoughts about it, it's all a jumble in process...but here it is anyway.
