I love this style even more (better fit and I prefer the front slash pockets for flattery and practicality), but they haven't been fitting. I hope they bring them back. A lot of travel and some injuries in the fall put me at my highest weight in 5 years. It is taking forever to come off. Gear and pjs have been my mainstay. But we took groceries to and made a fancy dinner for my MIL a few weeks ago (celebrated her 85th with homemade Steak Diane and Bourbon, Dried Cherry, Pecan bread pudding - she is sheltering in place like a boss, as are we - to protect her and everyone else in our community). So I snapped a few pics.</p> <p>#1,2) I'm wearing my workhorse Old Navy slim wide legs. Sorry for the poor quality photos and sewing mess in the background. I have been meaning to replace my weirdly distorted cheap mirror with a bend in the middle for ages, but it is not an essential purchase. &nbsp;I'm telling myself the wide crops are slightly less stumpifying IRL.&nbsp;Slicked back hair to disguise the lockdown craziness. I have not yet found a break in DD's schedule for her to attempt a trim.</p> <p>#3) I sewed this shirt a few months ago as a test for some nice merino wool knit I have been saving - I thought the oversized polo collar was a fun 70s-inspired detail (Jalie 2562) and I'm always looking for sun protection on my neck. Found the fabric at JoAnn - navy cotton interlock with lots of fun colors 9 - the teal bits match my comfy sneaks!). Glad I made a practice shirt as it was far too big, so I took off the sleeves, recut as best I could, and narrowed where possible. &nbsp;I will definitely cut a smaller size and make "petite" adjustments when I go for reals. Firecracker and Runcarla have inspired me to pull out the good fabric and take a stab.</p> <p>&nbsp;#4, DH and DD felt the need to expand our living space by clearing the deck last week and putting out the patio furniture. It is still a bit cool for dining on the deck (still freezing most nights and highs in the 60s (around 18C), but spring has sprung&nbsp;</p> <p>#5,6 Finally got off the paved neighborhood streets for a hike a few days ago. The snow is largely melted on the south-facing exposures at our elevation. But the single track trails make social distancing too stressful when you are passing. We were careful to get far off the trails when needed, but not every hiking party was as considerate.</p> <p>When I'm stressing and feeling low, I remind myself how fortunate I am to live in a beautiful, less crowded environment and have a home where we can SIP in far more easily than so many. You are a tremendous source of comfort.</p> <p></p> <p>ETA Find for currently available version of the crops - high rise rather than mid, but definitely worth a look. Cute white and blue striped version that I'd love to see IRL to find out if it is sheer or opaque.</p>
