I was once told by a hair stylist that the friction of styling is just as bad as the heat - so better a high heat for short, than a lesser heat with extra time and steps - no idea how scientific that is, but again for my hair it seems to be working! I have to make a concerted effort to achieve volume with products and technique.I find it’s best on days when I want a sleek, smooth finish. Also, as others have mentioned, the dryer is loud and it gets hot…like crazy hot.
