But since I travel mostly by transit, I rarely have light days to try shoes out. I either don't leave my house at all or I walk at least a mile or two, so new shoes are always a little worrisome for me. Thanks for mentioning contrast in #2. I was much happier in this version than in my previous lower-contrast rendition. But we skipped spring and went right to summer, with highs this week around 80F/27C. And in that weather, I just can't bring myself to wear a cardigan, jacket or even a scarf. So here are a few recent warm weather looks that do not incorporate a topper.</p> <p>Outfit 1: Worn to work. Most of the items in this outfit are new this year. I was on the hunt for tees with interesting details and the color and directionality of the stripes caught my eye. These sandals are also new. I wanted a closed toe pair. This was their first outing and they held up well to several miles of walking, though I did pop some moleskin in one spot.<br /> Cut jeans, Jcrew tee, Cobb Hill sandals, Kate Spade bag.</p> <p>Outfit 2: Another casual work outfit. I'd bought these baggy, pleated crops on a whim a few months ago and am working on trying to style them without looking too sloppy. I tucked the tee for the proportions and added the pink belt for some visual interest.<br /> Urban outfitters crops, Gap tee, Naot sandals.</p> <p>Outfit 3: Worn to work and for running around after. The top is linen so perfect for a hot day, and has enough shoulder/sleeve that I don't feel inappropriate wearing it to work. Added the necklace and red shoes for some color.<br /> Kut jeans, Loft top, Target necklace.</p> <p>I've been trying to make my summer wardrobe more cohesive and "me" this year. I know these aren't the most exciting outifts but they were comfortable, practical and hopefully not too boring in their lack of third pieces. What do you think? Thoughts and comments appreciated! </p>
