I love 7, 8 and 10! Sounds like a set of sweaters/light jackets would do you well for the office.

Joy, sadly, there's no getting to the nest without knocking out our wall. We live in an an apartment building, and the fire escape is nowhere near the nest, which is in an old disused a/c nook under our window. On the outside, the nook is covered with a grate, but I guess there's enough space for the birds to get in. If our building opens our wall removes the nest, they'll just throw it out, since they've been trying to reduce the number of birds in our alley (we face the inside of a U-shaped building, but live by Central Park, so... birds.) We see opening our wall as a last resort, and will try caulking where the wall meets the floor first. We have cats, so applying pesticides is also something we have to research carefully. We already tried food grade diatomaceous earth, which is safe.

On a happier note, I love my metallic shoes, too!

Your poor legs! I would be tempted to move that nest and put out food for those birds hoping that they would eat it and leave me alone. I like 2 and 10 best and admire your metallic shoes.

What is your dress in #5? I love it! I put most of my summer brights and whites away and realized I don't have much for the transition.

Thanks, Barbara Diane! I love that kimonos have come in.

The temps are about 80 degrees, which is normal for September, but of course I've already put some of my clothes that are summer-only away. I find that every day has been a little bit hotter than the predictions. Makes me glad I'm working for an org that works on climate change....

First I was going to say I love you in dresses, but #10 is my favorite.
Isn't it annoying/frustrating when the weather is not as expected.
Here first we were way warmer than normal, now colder than normal. And the weather predictions have been way off, making it so challenging to plan.

My ankle was pretty eaten up, Sisi. I wouldn't have minded so much if it had been bites scattered around, but it looked bad. I finally had to start sleeping with leggings tucked into socks, and I hate sleeping with socks unless it's very cold. The bites also take a couple of weeks to fade completely, and aren't so common to see on people here int he city (where the first thought would be bed bugs, I'm sure).

But the weather and need to cover does lend itself to long dresses!

These are very pretty outfits and I like them all, but my favorite is nr. 1. You look fab in a long dress ! As per the bites, in Summer my legs are always covered with mosquito and spider bites, but I wear my dresses no matter what - after all I live in an area that is famous for mosquitoes, so being covered with mosquito bites is the norm here. :)

Here are a few outfits from the last month or so. We're transitioning to fall, but even August was unusually cool for NYC, for the most part.

I was trying to wear all my summer dresses to assess them, but temps plunged too early. August is usually sweltering and humid here. I am now trying to wear some in a transitional way (see 7 and 9; the latter is today). But it's been hard - I have bites on my legs from getting bitten at night. It's bird mites from an abaondoned nest, not bed bugs. Birds may have taken the nest up again, so I hope to be seeing the end of that. I digress. My poor dresses and skirts have been languishing, is the point!

I am still trying to cultivate a polished but casual work look. I think I succeed some days better than others. Polish is not my strong suit. I don't make an effort to do my makeup lately, and my hair is something I was never good at styling.

And yeah, I wear the same cardigan a lot. My office is cold!
