Red shoes have been a game changer for me &nbsp;. . . . typed as I sit here in my burgundy and euro-style sneakers. I totally need a pair for spring/summer, some great flats! &nbsp;I work 9 hour days and depending on the time I commute in and out often have a 40 minute commute, so I'm not unfamiliar with the very long day. I guess that is why I decided that work style is important to me---- I want to look like myself and feel great in my clothes IN ADDITION to being comfy and wearing them hard. It is a lot to ask, but I basically have work clothes, loungewear, a capsule that goes from work to openings, and casual stuff for 2 days a week. It doesn't make a lot of sense to invest in stuff I can't make work at work! Today I ended up on a 15 foot ladder with a 20 pound glass historic light globe in my arms, will handle artifacts, and spend time on the computer. I often have unexpected public meetings, but often get quite dusty and sweaty at work too. I ask a LOT from my clothes!&nbsp;<br />&nbsp;<br />Angie-- I'm so glad you chimed in. I really appreciate it. Thank you for noticing-- I swear I've been paying attention all these years, it really helps to have a bit more budget and allow myself to let go of brain-blocks about the price of items, what others will think, and how things look on my body.&nbsp;<br />&nbsp;<br />Claire! I love it when you come to my threads! It is such a treat to have you back participating in the forum, although I totally understand that life gets busy and especially during each of our longest seasons dressing and the LACK of shopping can make fun with fashion less appealing. Awesome for another thumbs up on the pant roll, I'm glad since other than my k/r thread with the BF jeans it is my first experiment with rolling. It was semi-casual and I came straight from work, so I wore my dark straight legs and leather jacket with my only pair of booties and two new items. </p> <p>Overall, I was very happy with this outfit. It was a cold and rainy day, but with wool socks and the Unliquo heatgear underlayer I was plenty warm, and I had to take the jacket of at the extremely overheated opening. I had a cashmere beanie (from BiscuitsMom, my Secret Santa last year!) on most of the day in the office and my co-worker said I looked like a cat burglar. I have a little trouble with these booties and straight legs--- they aren't wide enough at the top to tuck into, but look very plain otherwise, so I played with rolling them today, but wore them to the opening down.</p> <p>And I apologize for the photos---- I don't have a good place to set up my tripod after dark and it is dark when I leave the house and dark when I get home currently! </p>
