I really like trains and had shown this bag to DH around Christmas, but couldn't justify the expense. My life rarely calls for silly clutch bags! But it came up on deep discount during one of online sales a few weeks ago and I pointed it out to DH again, and he surprised me with it. Now I just need more events to take it to.</p> <p>The pink hat is from Roots and I love the bright pop of color in the winter.</p> <p>Ruth, I will definitely be going to the ballet again. It was so much fun! </p> <p>Summer and Naz, you're right that we saw a range of dressiness at the event. Lots of jeans but lots of sparkly tops as well. DH wore jeans, but dark wash with a button down and a waistcoat. Sort of euro-chic. What I took away was feel free to dress up&nbsp;but not necessarily formal, and try to avoid a birthday party vibe. :)</p> <p>The wrench in my plans was, as usual, the weather. It&nbsp;wasn't supposed to start snowing until later in the&nbsp;afternoon but by noon,&nbsp;there was already an inch on the ground and more coming down. I realized most of my "nice" pants are either thin/drapey EF or dressy but&nbsp;wide-leg trousers, neither of which were going to cut it in the snow.&nbsp; </p> <p>In the end, I&nbsp;grabbed this knit dress from All Saints. It has a boxy dolman/batwing sleeve on one side that gives an asymmetric&nbsp;look when your arms are at your sides.&nbsp;I wore actual tights instead of leggings and went for my trusty Timberland boots for the snow. The knit made it feel cozy but I still felt a little dressed up&nbsp;in it. And the performance was fantastic!</p> <p>Also shown is my&nbsp;Valentine's gift from DH - a Kate Spade clutch in the shape of a train! Bonus pic of my non-puffer outwear as well.</p> <p>Too much, not enough, or&nbsp;about right&nbsp;- how did I do?&nbsp;Thoughts and comments are welcome!
