Thanks for helping me put a finger on the feel of this. I'm going to cut and paste those adjectives onto a notepad I keep on my ipad. I'm not much of a necklace wearer Deborah, but your suggestion reminded me of my pewter cuff that I pull out occasionally. It wouldn't have the same effect as a pendant but would work with the outfit.

ETA: thanks for logging in to comment Kelly

I had to log in when I saw this. It's no wonder you have a high happiness factor in this--simple and modern. Your hair is looking fab too. I think the fit on each piece is just perfect--nothing fussy or too oversized. I love everything about this!

ETA: The fit on the top is body skimming and almost tailored at the shoulders. That stands out to me too.

Fab outfit on you! No wonder you received compliments and felt happy!

Okay. Some adjectives I see: sophisticated, minimal, elegant, casual, MODERN.

Those might give you a start in figuring out where to go from here.

Also, you said you love each of the items individually as well as together. For me, that is always a huge factor in an outfit's success, as well. If there's any item that seems as if it is "bringing down" the other items, I won't be as happy. Meanwhile, a fantastic item can "elevate" an outift all on its own -- but it will be even better if I love all the pieces in themselves.

Very nice:) I understand why your happiness factor is high:) Love the booties and isn't the Spiegel so fab!! My only suggestion would be to add say a silver long pendant to tie it all together. Your bottom half is white and your top half is dark and your hair is dark so I would just add something light to the top half. Great look.

You look great Pil! The jeans and the Pettys are wonderful together, and I love the simplicity of the top and the Spiegel is great with this too. If the Pettys I bought fit, I am so copying you.

You do look great both with and without the jacket. It may be the simple lines or structured unstructure of the top. Or the proportions - you have created a long leg with the white jeans and boots. (Or maybe I am just projecting!)

So I think this is really the first outfit I've posted where I truly felt a "happiness factor". There isn't really much to it, but I love all of the pieces individually and together.

Now, how to translate/replicate this moving forward. Muted colors? Simple lines, pocket detail and fabrication of the top? Waist surrender? Neckline? I received compliments on this and the Spiegel jacket was quite a hit.

As usual, I'm always open to your comments, critiques and suggestions.
