I use accessories all the time. Swap out a scarf or put on a hat, it does wonders to the whole outfit. I guess jeans and black shirt would be my uniform.

Thanks for the support on that one, Gryffin ;)
Marilyn, what a great outfit and great idea ... I have an ink blazer I'll have to make a note of wearing more as a jacket this spring, and will keep an eye out for a black one. So funny that we were twins!

TG....Once the weather warms up I wear blazers as outerwear. I even wear them with shorts if it's not hot. I really love a blazer whether woven or knit. Yes, they are not terribly practical in the winter. It's easier to wear a cardigan under a coat when you're on the go.

I've recreated this JC look for the last couple summers......except for the hat. I haven't found a hat that doesn't make me look like a dork.

Thanks everyone - I'm eternally grateful that you are not completely fed up with me by now (or, at least, are too polite to say so!).

Gryffin - yes, there are both totally me, totally in my comfort zone and happy place. I love your description of your own uniform, especially the blazer part, which sadly is not the most practical for me most days, but would definitely elevate the look. I do enjoy changing up the cut of my jeans and tops (I too can't fill out a v-neck and prefer crews, but the DH begs to differ so I try to mix it up).

That said, I am also aware that I flip flop like a fish on the deck of a boat about these matters - I have color moments and change up the silhouette moments - these usually last about a week, and then I am back to the usual again - usually after much analysis on the matter!! (I DO know myself )
I think it would be worthwhile for me to do an experiment of wearing a strict uniform for a month, or even just a few weeks, just to see what I learn from it - I was very content during my Project 333 experiment, until the very end.

Thanks all!

TG - I didn't get to read your other post yet but I am honored to be an inspiration. My uniform is very similiar - I wear crew necks because I can't fill out v-necks, change out jean silouettes, boots/booties of choice, belt and the main difference is I almost always wear a blazer. If I'm hanging at home black cardigan. By swapping out silhouettes in jeans or black/gray jeans or jacket silhouette vs cardi (all black) I can change out the mood, level of formaility but still feel like I look like me. So what are your thoughts? How does this feel? Calm, serene, authentic? or restrictive? You know that I am loving it but it's all about finding what makes you happy and feel like you!!

Geez! You stole my outfit! LOL This is pretty much exactly what I wore yesterday. Your boots even look the same. And, I wore my black leather watch that I got from Coach for Christmas. I wore a pair of modern silver earrings instead of the necklace. Other than that.....yep.

Hi there, speaking of uniforms, I realized that without thinking I've put on the same simple outfit to go grocery shopping today, that I wore for a casual girls night out on Saturday. Just switched out one accessory. Go figure!

The sweater is a BR black v-neck and the jeans are dark wash skinnies from Gap. Boots are NineWest. The somewhat statement-y necklace is a cheapy from Dynamite, while the charcoal scarf (which I added inspired by Gryffin's gray and black propensities) is also a cheapy, from Joe Fresh. Photos suck from today, sorry!

PS - I look far more inverted triangle than I am in some of my WIWs ... I think it's a result of angling the camera to get my shoes in. I'm sure you were all very concerned about that haha!
