Claire & Deborah - I think you've hit the nail on the head about the top in the 2nd outfit.

Angie - thanks.

Jules - must give that a try.

Hi there, you're looking fab in those skirts! And I'm crushing hard on those python wedges! I'm with Deborah on the second top, I always wore that kind with pants or shorts, but I'm not sure if there's a rule for empire waist tops, lol! Either way, you look great in skirts. You should explore them for hot weather because they can be so cool and breezy.

Kiwichik, you look wonderful in skirts:) I like both outfits and I agree that #1 is more what I am used to seeing you in but I like both equally. To my way of thinking the top in the second outfit, while it looks good with the skirt, is that it's designed more to be worn with pants.. maybe that's why you feel as you do. Stunning shoes.

Thanks Karie and Tracey.

Thistle I usually wear the 2nd top with red accents. Hmmm style goals interesting question - I guess my two main goals are to look youthful & current (although I am not particularly fashion forward) and to de-emphasise the pear. I would love to be a shapely hourglass but that ain't gonna happen.

Both outfits are lovely, but I really like #2 better.

I am not familiar with your style goals, but have you ever considered adding an accessory as a pop of color? I have seen some other YLFers do that, and it looked really nice with the neutrals.

Congratulations for pushing outside the comfort zone of not wearing skirts and finding one that is a great compromise. Like both outfits and yes #1 does have more of the boho vibe...

HI Suz - definitely the drapiness of the blouse and the the tie at the waist - I really like the look of flamenco dancers and tieing things at the waist kind of reminds me of that kind of look and it also made me feel more like my (at heart) bohoish self.

I am glad your new shoes prompted you to try skirts for a change! I like both of these looks. Curious as to why #1 felt more "you" to you. Was it the sheer draping of the overblouse?

Hello lovely ladies - like many people I tend to wear a uniform based around trousers and as I have a bit of a skirt phobia (long story) I don't wear them often. So here are a couple of rare skirt outfits from the last couple of weeks. I have a black maxi skirt that I wear to death(because it is a maxi and worn like that no legs are on display) either as a maxi or as in the pics below rolled at the waist to create a midi.

I preferred the first outfit over the second as I felt more like me but I was trying to figure out what I could wear my python wedges with (my trousers are too short for heels this high).

Anyway comments and suggestions welcome.
