There's something about the colors of the tee with the taupe shorts that is really appealing to me. Jaime - I enjoy wearing bright shots as much as my non bright options. We have a long season of hot weather so shorts are a large portion of my summer wardrobe. Firecracker (Sharan) - I will have to try a blazer with the Lysse shorts, the material is on the dressy side so I think that will work well. Thanks for the suggestion. Sisi - I'm delighted the layering in 6 and 7 worked well. They were both fun outfits to wear. Janet - *high five for juxtaposition* It's fun to mix dressy with non-dressy sometimes. Safe travels to AZ! There's beautiful scenery for photography there, I hope you have a lovely time! RobinF - I've slowly added lots of colors and variety to my shorts wardrobe, we have a long season of hot weather and I enjoy mixing things up. Angie - *happily accepts crown* With our long season of hot weather, I've expanded my shorts wardrobe over time and really enjoy having a variety of colors and inseam lengths. The coral and peach I've added this season have been a joy to wear, such fun colors! The orange Zella pants I added last fall is what turned me on to orange-based shades, it's such a versatile color and I wish I could find various orange shades more often across the seasons! ChristelJ - The cargo shorts is a new style for me this season that I picked up at Kohls. I'm enjoying adding this style to my shorts wardrobe to mix things up. Star - I always enjoy a good button-down shirt outfit too. I love the variety in looks that you achieve with different shorts lengths, styles, colors, and the tops you pair with them. 3/4 seems pretty simple, yet it's my favorite. Those colors really complement your hair and skin so well. There's an elegance to the look even though it's quite casual. I also really like the Lyssé shorts, and I can see what you mean about the fabric looking dressier. You nailed the outfit, with that pretty open-work top and white sandals! I wonder if you could make a graphic tee work with them, if you add a structured jacket. Here's some recent shorts outfits. I wear a lot of shorts with graphic tees, but this season I'm also trying out some non graphic tees paired with my shorts to mix things up. #1 to #2 - Pink WHBM Mid-Rise Pret-A-Play Shorts and Rails Pink Palm Tree Embroidered Linen Shirt These pink WHBM shorts were my first pair from the Pret-A-Play line and each year I add another color. This pink pair have gotten too big but I'm going to try to squeeze one more season out of them. I haven't seen WHBM feature this pink color in quite some time, I am hoping they bring it back at some point. #3 to #4 - Lucky Brand Butterfly Graphic Tee and Taupe WHBM Mid-Rise Pret-A-Play Shorts Shorts, a graphic tee, and sneakers is a go to formula for me when it's too hot outside to layer. #5 to #6 - Lysse Amanda Stretch Twill Shorts and White Caslon Lace Sleeve Top I really like the color of these Lysse shorts, but I struggle to style them. It took me a while to realize the culprit is the material. I do not like how these shorts look with graphic tees, the material calls for something a little dressier on top. #7 to #8 - Coral Amazon Mid-Rise Curvy Fit Slim Shorts and Billy T Wild Cactus Denim Embroidered Shirt These coral Amazon shorts are one of the two new colors I'm trying out this season (the other is peach sorbet skinnies). I look forward to styling them with various colors. #9 to #10 - Unexpected New Adidas Breaknet Sneakers in Powder Blue These Adidas sneakers were an unexpected recent addition. I wasn't actively shopping for fashion sneakers at the moment (I have plenty) but I already own the Breaknet style in a navy pair and they are very comfortable to my fussy feet. When I stumbled across this powder blue pair I had to have them. #11 to #12 - Plaid Shirt and White Bermuda Shorts This plaid shirt was thrifted a while back and I can finally start pairing it with shorts, yay! I enjoy wearing shorts of all inseam lengths but I always struggled with the fit of Bermuda lengths. I do not like my shorts to cling to my thighs. Last year I decided to try going up one size for these white Bermuda shorts and that solved the problem perfectly. I got the waist taken in and now I enjoy having Bermuda shorts in my collection.
