I particularly love the navy scuba dress; that neckline is so flattering. I was charmed to see the receipt you found—I'm always touched when I come across handwritten notes or items like receipts, recipes, or library cards from prior decades. There's something so intimate about handwriting—to me it's as powerful as a photograph. It makes me sad that cursive is no longer required to be taught in school. Decades ago, I bought an Art Nouveau mirror in Belgium, and pasted on the back was a note handwritten in French in beautiful calligraphic script by the children of the couple who received the mirror as a gift, congratulating their parents on their 50th wedding anniversary. The weather remains just on the other side of "not cool", so I really can't wear fall stuff. And I struggle with being sick of the hot-weather clothes I've been wearing since May. I have sneaked in some new things, and slightly-too-warm things, to help cope. These aren't all totally inspired, but I didn't hate any of them!</p> <p>Monday (1-3)<br /> New to me vintage skirt, very lightweight floral blouse, pink pearly shoes, and blue cardigan to try to tone it down. The skirt is a smooth, cool nylon, very lightly batted and quilted. I'm looking forward to pairing it with darker sweaters and shoes in the winter. Bonus: The handwritten receipt for "dues" I found in one of the pockets. Dated 1958. :)</p> <p>Tuesday (4-6)<br /> ASOS navy scuba knit dress, white blouse/tee, mint cardigan, and 40s/50s shoes. Mint flower earrings. I really like the sweetheart neckline. </p> <p>Wednesday (7-9)<br /> Green and black giraffe (?) print high waist jersey dress, black New Look shoes, black cardigan. Rise gold jewelry, just to be different. </p>
