Thank you for all your kind words - I'm not sure I'm right for the job but the interview went well & it was good practice!

My "difficult" cardi in #1 is about a foot longer than shown - it ends at a really unflattering point! When it's rolled up it does stay where it's told as it's quite snug buttoned up. The belt's well behaved too but I do have to remember not to fasten it too tight or else I feel like I'm bursting out all over after a couple of hours!

I had a sneaky feeling that the blouse was a tad too short for the trousers - I'm making a pencil skirt at the moment so I'll try it with that when it's finished.

I love the waistcoat! When I was younger I quite often dressed like this - even adding a tie when the mood took me but always with a splash of colour or funky acceesories or shoes. It's a side of my "clothing personality" that I'm looking forward to exploring!

I like both outfits very much. Number 1 is perf, just the way it is! Number 2 seems like it needs a little brightness, a little more contrast. A long sliver necklace maybe?

I am sorry you lost your dog. We get so attached to our pets and it is so hard to see them leave us.

Question, does rolling the cardi stay in place? Seems like I tried that once and was forever 'fixing' it.

So sorry to hear about your loss, I know how hard it is to lose a beloved furbaby! Glad to hear you are starting to feel better.

Both outfits look great! I like the shorter cardigan trick you did with #1, how long is it normally? It might also work left long and unbuttoned but still belted. #2 has great graphic integrity, and the vest is super! I can't quite tell from the photo but it looks to me like this blouse may be too short for pants, though.

I'm so sorry about your dog. That's incredibly hard...

I LOVE #2, and your first outfit is fab, too. I agree about the red. Fingers crossed regarding the job.

DJ I'm so sorry you've been feeling sad, and I can only imagine what it's like to lose your best friend. I'm glad that you played around in your closet and began to feel better!

That cardi and that dress are a match made in heaven! You've never worn the two together before? How did that belt do? I wore one the other day and wanted to rip it off by the end of the day, lol! In fact, at dinner, I sneakily undid it and slid it into my bag when no body was looking (but don't tell anyone). I would have loosened it, but it was already on the last notch!

I love what you wore to the job interview. I can't believe you thrifted the shirt and I know exactly what you mean about the unfinished look of some shirts and pants together. And I've been fighting with my blazers for *work* too. Which is why I NEED a waistcoat just like yours. Desperately. You look so pulled together and it is the perfect piece to make your outfit office appropriate with a little cheeky flair. Nice work! I love the shoes too. Maybe you can try this with the red accents after you get the job, which I have no doubt you will do!

I'm sorry about your dog. I hadn't thought about the walks... when it's my Lilypup's time, it will be so odd not to walk. That is hard, but I'm glad you're feeling better.

Both outfits are great. The waistcoat one, however, is simply outstanding my dear! Outstanding!

So sorry to hear that you lost your furbaby. They really do have an impact on our lives. It is heartbreaking to lose them.

I love outfit #1 with the dress - very nicely done layering with the cardi.
Also like your waistcoat solution in #2. red shoes would be great with this - perhaps after you get the job Hope it went as you wanted!

I'm so sorry about your sweet dog, losing a pet is heart-wrenching.

I love your dress outfit, the cardigan looks great here. The waistcoat and your striped shirt are wonderful too, I like the idea of the white stitching on your wedges with this, and agree that a red shoe would be fun. I hope the interview went well.

Very nice! You're looking very good.

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your dog. I am completely in love with my three dogs, so I understand. I also have horses and a cat but there is just nothing that compares to a dog and his/her understanding of us, love, companionship, humor and loyalty. Are you considering another one to love?

Things have been manic recently & I haven't been posting much.

I've been a little blue following my gorgeous dog's passing but I'm back on track.
I've replaced my much missed dog walks with gymming, swimming & cycling and I'm starting to feel more energetic - at last!

Here's a couple of new WIW's for work. It's really grey & miserable here in Yorkshire at the moment - it's rained non-stop for about a week & more is forecast. It's a bit chilly too so my long boots have come back out to play.

Outfit 1 is one of my charity-shop find dresses with my "difficult" cardi on top. I've rolled the cardi under at the bottom to make it a better length for dresses & finished with a slim belt. I must have got changed about 4 times that morning but ended up feeling really happy & cheery in this combo. Bonus is that we got our new uniforms that day - mine is a purple polo shirt & I was totally co-ordinating with it!

Outfit 2 is what I wore to an interview today. The invitation specified "office wear" so I teamed my smart black trousers with a new fitted striped shirt - also a charity-shop find. The trousers & shirt looked a little "unfinished" but my smart jacket crushed the collar & looked a little too boxy so I settled on wearing my new waistcoat over the top. I couldn't tuck my shirt in as the trousers are too low slung but the hubster assured me it looked ok. My patent wedges have little white stitches around them so they tied into the black & white theme nicely. Ideally, I'd have worn red shoes & accents but wasn't sure how this would have been perceived. I felt great - comfortable but also a little bit funky!

I'd really appreciate your comments & suggestions for improvement - thanks!
