It’a distinctive and I’ve always liked it. There are gardens surrounding it, and it’s right next to the National Mall, which runs from the Washington Monument to the Capitol building. My friend and I were commenting how lucky we are that we grew up so close to all of this and got to visit it so many times over the years — school field trips, etc. Washington has so much to see! </p> <p>Jonesy, the East building is my favorite part too. We explored the modern building of the museum, walked all around the nearby gardens, did a little shopping at the museum store and the Rack, and had a great tapas dinner at Jose Andres’ Jaleo restaurant. Weather was absolutely perfect. Truly a special day. </p> <p>Kept it simple and walkable. Sundry chinos, Karen Kane koi print top, Aimee Kestenberg crossbody, and Sofft gladiator sandals. </p> <p>Lots of pics from the museum and gardens! An unusually quiet day in DC. </p>
