I actually think this top looks better IRL than in photos -- maybe its one of those things that is helped by being able to see the drape and movement. I might see if I can get the pants altered just a smidge so the hem tapers up slightly in front to accommodate my foot without bunching too much. If my tailor has any hesitation about doing it, I won't bother.</p> <p>Jonesy, I forgot to include that detail -- the pants were from New York &amp; Co. I think the style is called Bleecker Street. I'd never thought to try NY&amp;Co before, but their tall lengths work well for me. It's a lot going on in one top -- print, shoulder detail, asymmetrical -- but I like how unique it is.</p> <p>The pants are new and a good example of how sometimes it pays off to try a store where you normally don't shop. I've been wanting simple, straight-legged, machine washable, multiseason casual black trousers for a long while, but was having a terrible time finding them. These fit me really well, but I don't love how in the photo they're bunching at the bottom. As you can see in the side view, they're not too long. I suspect the issue is that they are not wide and when worn with platforms, they scrunch up on the top of my foot a bit. Should I get them altered so the hem dips up slightly in front? </p>
