I wore them on a hot day and they felt similar to a pair of silk pants.  <div>Bijou, Arche and R&B are expensive here, too. I only consider what is on sale. Favourite summer footwear is always a challenge for me too. Finding perfectly comfortable and light and airy footwear is a challenge. I love the new R&B sandals and also find Arche to be comfy even if I am not in love with the styles, it's just a shame that they are so expensive (well Arche footwear is expensive in Australia). I tend to think I'm not keeping things that long, but when I count up the years since many of my purchases, they add up to quite a lot. The pants in #1 are r fascinating -- they really do look like jeans in the photo! I love you in the blue shirt. Gorgeous colour and gorgeous on you with the new sandals. And those green pants are all kinds of fun. I like the straw bag, too. I hope you are able to find the refresh for those favourite old shoes....it can be so hard to part with certain workhorse items.  I definitely keep things for a long tie (especially shirts/ blouses and coats) and mix old and new all the time. You have an excellent eye for picking colors that are divine on you. #1 - I would never have known you were rushed for this outfit, it looks so pulled together. My matchy matchy self-adores that the black sandals pick up the black on the bag and the black glasses. The white shirt looks like a lovely classic. #2 - This blue color is stunning on you, so glad you found it. It looks excellent with white, and I am sure it'll be lovely with black pants too.  #3 - These green pants paired with the leopard shoes is amazing! What a smashing combination! The white sheer top grounds the outfit. It's nice when new items can seamlessly mix in with existing wardrobe items. While I do have some older items, I tend to turn over much of my wardrobe fairly quickly. I like to try new styles, colors, etc, and the only way I can do that and keep my wardrobe from growing to an unmanageable size, is if I do 1 in/1 out with new purchases which leads me to have a higher turnover rate overall. Lise, Arche sandals in the photo #1 has its brand specific thick soles, a bit platform looking. I generally don’t wear platforms or thick soles but like these for their architectural style. They are a cage sandals and look better with cropped pants. So, wrong here or would be with my other full length pants. The shirt sleeves are turned up and I’m planning to turn them down and see if I like it more. You look pretty, pulled together, punchy, and practical Star (Lise) on "WIW - Old & New" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw---old-new#post-2389372 Tue, 01 Jul 2025 14:57:13 +0000 Star (Lise) 2389372@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ I do have many oldies that I wear but they must work with my newer items, athough as a thrifter many of my newer items are somebody else's oldies :).  But as my thrift shopping becomes more targeted my new to me items still reflect my current style.  An example is earthy colours this  year, and more drapey, silhouettes in tops and pants.  I do keep things for a long time but there are pieces that I know I will never be happy in again and they get donated.   I like the cornflower blue colour, stunning.  Also the pistachio colour pants together with your favourite 'unexpected' shoes, fab!  The tencel looks like real denim - that is so awesome, the look of denim but cool and light.  Irina you have very specific evolving 'taste' and I am curious to know what you are not feeling about the shirt and shoes in the first pic? They are not perfect, just fabulous enough but illustrative my main wardrobe goal - versatility of clothes I’m adding  <div> </div><div>1. Rag & bone liquid Miramar wide leg relaxed jeans. They are not real jeans, they are tencel pants with denim print on it. Very lightweight and relaxed. Bought them last year but only alter to wear this year. Worn here with 10 years old Massimo Dutti linen shirt and 8 years old Arche sandals. Don’t like the style of the shirt anymore but can’t find a substitute. Sandals are wrong here, too but I was in a rush and didn’t have time to change. I’m not into these sandals this year but still love them and definitely intend to keep them forever. </div><div> </div><div>2. New Mango linen shirt in cornflower blue. Have been looking for this color so long and happy I finally got it! Worn to a casual dinner out with friends. Pants are viscous/linen mix from BR, 5 years old. Sandals are new, R&B. Glasses are blue tinted but hardly visible here, from Longchamp. </div><div> </div><div>3. New lightweight cotton green pants from BR. Bought to wear mostly on beach vacations but also on a hot day here. Love the fabric and color, cut is very casual, drawstring style. I’m wearing it with 3 years old MUJI linen top and 7 years old shoes. These shoes are so worn out, on their last leg but they are my favorite summer shoes. I ordered what looked like the same shoes from this brand but they are not comfortable! So sad! I know that some of Fabbers love to wear their older items and tend to keep clothes for long time. It doesn’t always work for me but I definitely keep some.
